  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • Well, I think it was in the eighties when my father bought a Pong-Console.
And after that, the usual stuff like Atari VCS 2600, C 16, C 64,
Amiga 500, Amiga 1200, PC and besides that a few game-consoles...

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Mostly I use a PC for multi-channel, internet, movie-editing and scene
because you can work mach faster on it. But beside that I also own a few
Amigas for composing 4-channel-modules and watching the latest demos.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Well, in the early years on Amiga I was "just" mail-trader, but I wanted to
do anything more creative. So I tried to paint, but after my first steps I
have realised that this is not the right for me. I tried to code, but after
a few lines I stopped ;-) So, what else can you do for a scene-demo? I started
making music on my first Amiga 500 with Sound-Tracker 2.2, I use it until now
    for doing 4-channel-stuff.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • I have two favourite ones: The Sound-Tracker 2.2 on Amiga (4-Channel) and
the Fast-Tracker 2.09 on PC (multi-channel). I also tried to use some
sequenzers like Cubase but I think it is much easier to compose with a
tracker (patterns, keys, and so on...)

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I don´t think I have reached my goal yet. But I like "Hacker" (you can
download it on my website www.mcandy.de in the scene-section). On of the
very old tracks I like is "Illusions" which was released at The Party 4.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For What reason?

  • Yep, Mentioned above "Illusions". It reached place 8 at The Party 4.
It was my first Tune which was really able to compete to other high-
    quality-tracks back in 1994.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Without music you could never ever release a demo (perhaps a 4k-intro).
The atmosphere given by a cool track is one the most important subjects
    in a scene-demo or a game.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Just for leisure purposes and for scene. Too bad, I don´t have the time to
    concentrate on a commercial production.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • The old-school scene-tracks are ruling more than ever. There´s nothing
comparable to the goold old scene-style. It doesn´t matter if you hear them
    as wave, mp3 or whatever.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • There are a few musicians who earn my respect like Jesper Kyd, Mad Freak,
Scorpic, Jogier Liljedahl, ... sorry for the forgotten ones... There are
many talented msx-artists in the scene.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Actually I have released three CD´s with my Tunes. Just for fun.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • My all time favourite commercial band is The Prodigy. But I also like
    listening Hip Hop and Trance.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Everthing, without those two computers the scene would not be the scene.
I don´t think on PC would be any demo-scene without the roots on Amiga/C64.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Of course, Nuance has releases every year. And sometimes there are
also my tunes in the productions. This year we will release a Wild-Demo,
    a 40k-intro and a party-report on the MS2k.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • I would like to greet all my current and former contacts, also the old
mail-trading guys. Hey, if you read this, feel free to re-contact me for
    chatting (or mail-trading? ;-) bye...
