  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • When i was 11-13 years old i was fascinated by arcade and TV-games. This
interest just took off when i got my first C64 - and within 1 month I
cancelled all my 5 sportsactivities. My parents then regreted letting
me buy this box (not today though).

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • I think I have the common upgrade history. From C64 to Amiga 500 to 1200
to..... PC (i am so ashammed...)

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • SONIX - That is the answer. I heard a demo of this early music program for
my Amiga, doing "Axel F" and i was amazed that you could do this music
with my computer. The day after I got my hands on a copy and started
composing for my local demogroup called MAC (Mad Amiga Crackers... HA HA HA,
    we where so lame)

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • I think i have done them all. Every Sound/Noise and ProTrackers, OctaMED,
SoundMon, Future Composer, Musician(or was it Magician?) and some others
I dont remember. Most of my tunes where Tracker though. On the PC i hace
only used FastTracker. I have tried ModPlugTracker but the multikey func.
is very laggy. This is a 'must-have' function for us mortals who don't
    have a synth.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Non... we all strive for perfection....

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For What reason?

  • 'Random Voice IV' my contribution to the Gathering 92 (or 93?)
competition. I never made it finish for the
deadline. And during the plageback on stage, the player mad it sound totally
    crap (intuitracker). I got 12th.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Synch, atmosphere and a melody which just give you that unidentifying
    rush.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • No composing. I now work as a dep. manager for a consulting firm (NOROFF).
    And are specialized in graphix
(Adobe, macromedia, autodesk, Kinetix) my area is now - CAD & 3D.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I always hated MIDI. MP3 it good for distributing music. I think Tracker
music could soon have a comeback if we could integrate a tracker plugin in
the Flash-technology. The internet could be our saviour.
Because on the net -"size does matter"...

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • So many. But one i never forget is a Jochel Hippel tune. This tune had it
all - sync, atmospere and a strong melody. He simulated 5 channels by
mixing the Bdrum in the bassline. The sad thing is that i never remember
    the name of the tune...

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • No.. But I am planning doing an 3D.animation with my music.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Everything from Techno to Classical. It all depends on the mood you want
to set. I mostly listen to classical moviethemes though (Williams,
Silvestri, Zimmer etc.). When I start composing again - this is the style
i want to do. It has everything - it is timeless, visual and atmospheric....

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Some of mye best years. A lot of friends and a lot off knowledge which i
have had great benefit of later. The scene was something special.....

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No... But i am very happy so se that some still are (salute to crown of
    cryptoburners)

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • A golden greetings to all the talented coders, musicians and graphic
artist who made the scene possible. Take care....
We meet at the gathering 2000. Look out for NOROFF
