  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • It was about year 1986 (I was about 10 years old) and I started using a
Spectrum 48K that my father had bought. My father tought me some very basic
programming techniques and I also read some books about the BASIC programming
language. My main occupation with that computer for some years was playing
games and programming and modifying simple BASIC programs (mostly games I
    believe).

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Spectrum 48K - playing games and programming with BASIC
Amiga 1000 - playing games, programming with AmigaBASIC and composing music
Amiga 500 - composing music, playing games, connecting to BBSs, programming
    with ARexx, listening to MODs
Now I have a Pentium III PC.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I believe because I liked very much listening to music, I liked making music
more than the other things and because I felt I could do something nice. I never
got from programming to coding as I didn't have the patience to learn. I didn't
have particular graphic skills, and anyway wasn't particularly attracted from
doing graphics (maybe also here because of lack of patience).

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • In timely order:

AMIGA.. Instant Music, Soundtracker, Protracker, Octamed
PC.. OCtamed Soundstudio, Dreamstation, XGWorks, Cubase

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I don't remember

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • I would like to remember them all; in fact I'm sorry I can't listen to my
first compositions anymore (Instant Music refutes to run). If a tune is not
very nice, it's at least interesting for me to listen to it again.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • I believe it's very important for the viever/listener as it gives ambience /
atmosphere/mood and eventually groove. And it gives the listener eventually
something nice and entertaining to listen to. I never composed music for a
demo though, just for an intro.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Yes, I'm still composing. The leisure purposes are always there, and I'm trying
to go professional by getting a record deal. I sent some promo CDs to various
record companies, but without success. Well, I've already tried to go
professional by selling CDs on the internet (on mp3.com), but very few got sold.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I think MPEG compression is as very good thing for me and others, as it gives
the possibility to publish fully produced music pieces on the internet. I find
WAV and MP3 also important (WAV is essential for me) because I don't compose
with trackers anymore, but with MIDI, and these formats serve me to record and
distribute my works, which sound relatively very similar to how I hear them at
home this way. I almost never listen to MODs these days.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • There are too many I like much to mention. I've composed more than 130 pieces.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • I've already a CD on sale with remastered MODs - the ones I prefer - to which
I just made some panning settings and added some reverb.
it's called "Amiga Works" (but all tracks can be downloaded for free).

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Enya, Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Loreena McKennit, Metallica, Toto,
Incognito and others... but I don't listen to much music these days.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • The possibility to get my music heard, friends, very nice demos and intros and
    beautiful music.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Greetings go particularly to Metaldesigner and Horobi as it's years I don't see
and hear them. Thanks for the interview, I believe it's my first one.
