Well, those seem to be the big guns Cheesy
So it was not an obvious feature I was unaware of, It was really deeper.
So far, I only used tweakpng to kill some chunks. Good to know, thanks!

Just curious about the tools you used to crunch the size of my avatar, with the parameters I know I can get 1.79ko but yours is 1.54ko.

Weird, the other day I listened to the game track then the jogeir's remake and I failed to distinguish them, I guess I didn't pay attention enough.
7  Amiga Music / Music database / [solved] A module by Jogeir Liljedahl or Tim Follin or both ? on: February 15, 2013, 10:15:58
Hi!
The stage 1 music for Ghouls'n Ghosts http://amp.dascene.net/downmod.php?index=34934 is in the Jogeir Liljedahl mods but the mod itself states in info that this is a Tim Follin conversion. While http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Follin#Software_Creations explicitly credit this music to Tim Follin. So what happened here ?

You really are gifted swirlythingy.  Smiley

+1

I tried to find the cannon fodder "recruitment or loader music" this day, and AMP had only the PC cut version, while youtube has the amiga version but interpolated (that's why I rarely trust youtube for accuracy, I check with youtube but download and listen on AMP Smiley).

So thanks for that !

Hi,

Just look at mod.hi-score and mod.benefactor8 both by Blaizer..
(is there any dedicated topic I missed for dupes busting?)
12  Amiga Music / Audio Trackers & Players / Re: MOD playback fidelity ? on: September 08, 2012, 22:48:18
All right, so I should explore protracker 2.* within WinUAE (knowing that WinUAE has its own sound options I'll have to play with). At least, I'd hear if there is any rendering differences between an emulated protracker and XMPlay.

Thanks guys (:

On a sidenote, I thought about this rendering "issue" immediately after hearing an Arpegiator's tune where I spotted real playback differences, and I was unable to define which one was accurate (admitting that an "accurate" version may exist on youtube, given the encoding settings):

Salutations !

I'd like to solve a problem but I'm afraid there's no 100% sure solution, you'll tell me.
Let's pretend I'd like to listen to an amiga tune the way it has been composed, the way it originally sounded.. but on my PC.
What should I know ?
- Tracker prog used
- Tracker settings, if any ?
- Then what, should I try to emulate the amiga tracker or use some PC tracker ?
- and above all, is it useful, or is it a lost cause (:

At first, I'd say AMP doesn't mainly feature copyrighted products at all (thanks to demoscene), I'd even say they may want to stay away from potential conflict (deus ex demo only OST for instance). As long as no big bucks are made (or, perceived to be, lost by the legal owners) everything should be safe. But, yes, this is not based on facts, more on "rational behaviour".

What would happen to the generic retro focused websites ? Threats are severe, I have some worries. Now if these laws are not crushed by the masses, let's hope that trademark owners will balance the pros and cons before taking action, because unauthorized reproduction of trademarks is, in many cases, also a free promotion.

Hi sir,
I ran into the same problem a while ago, until Asle (and/or someone else, I don't remember) brought us the handles+ex-handles search (available in the full search feature). I think it solves everything..
