Hello everyone,

I love the amiga music and rip one or the other even. I have many amiga cds original with many mods but all the mods I have to compare it with amp takes years.
still upload or what can i do?

I think the mods anthology, Music Mod & Sound Effect CD, Da capo etc. is in amp present.

I think the mods anthology, Music Mod & Sound Effect CD, Da capo etc. is in amp present.

Unfortunately, thats the nature of the beast I'm afraid.  I came to the conclusion a long time ago, that I would not bother keeping original filenames of mods intact, especially if trying to keep some sort of order and structure to having 10s of thousands of files.  I'd hate to think what that list would look like if I did.

If its just thousands of files with meaningless or cryptic filenames in folder(s), and no structure or order to it, comparing is going to be painful, time consuming and really a pain in the arse process. Some people may even find that fun, unexpectingly coming across a rare, missing or a gem no one else has. It might just be, you have to click on each one and check the credits.

If its any consolation, even with the fairly good structure and order I keep, I still have to sometimes check individual files or lists from AMP/Modland/MA against my Excel spreadsheet, or just clicking on the mod and having a listen.

Hey,

As a general rule : in doubt, please upload Wink
Now, about Mods Anthology, its content is indeed online already.

Hey,

OK, retrieved _one_ CD image you've uploaded (thanks!).
Many musics are stored several times in various sub-directories. A lot of musics are already on-line, thankfully Smiley. The remainder will be handled for the ones a composer can be identified.
Note that some are invalid files, like \best of mods\windsurf.mod. which contains about 10 extra Kb (which is already on AMP anyway and it's only _one_ example when quite a few others could be listed).

From a general standpoint, I'll handle all this but it'll take time, obviously. I'll send some stuff to Curt Cool to spread the workload.

If you have a specific question regarding why some music(s) don't get played, please tell me which one(s) Smiley . From what I could see, those are bad rips, so far, but I didn't see all the files .. *geee* Smiley

Again, thanks a lot for your kind contribution.

Cheers

I use winamp + plugin or deliplayer to play the mods on win7. On amiga i use Eagleplayer to play the music. You can the amigaplayer in the eagleplayer directory or the eagleplayers in aminet (from wanted team) copy to the delipayer on win7 in the directory amigaplayers to play the music.
(X:\Sound\DeliPlayer2\AmigaPlayers)

I upload more amiga music to the FTP i a few days. Smiley

Please tell me an example which mod played not corect.

Well, musics play correct or not at all Smiley.
Here's another example : Modplayer\Game\1869.MOD

Not the right place, for that. You could try the tosec forum or even on eab (eab.abime.net).
They ought to have answers down there Smiley

Hey,

First, thanks for your contributions. It's always welcome here. Now, there's NO rush at all ! See, I barely scratched the surface of _one_ of your uploaded CD ... . So please, take your time Smiley
A note however, some musics I've found are converted, whereas AMP stores the original music already. I've just deleted those without notice. I didn't think you'd expect any kind of detailed analysis, here. Fact is that I just don't see how I could humanly make any kind of report for those hundreds of files  Tongue

Cheers
