  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • Guess it started with the Vic-20 i got back in 1983 on the Christmas eve.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Vic-20, got tired of it, did _not_ buy C64, just fooled around at pal's
places. Bought A500. Still got it, still use it. It's too hot to be sold
and too hot to be in need of AGA / 1200.
PC is coming up when i get enough money. Weird enough i didn't buy one yet.
I've been waiting and waiting for years. Wonder when i'm gonna pull the
    fingers out.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • It all started with the forming of me and my friend's bands. I listened a lot
to music before that, too. Somehow my mind had easier to express it's
emotions in noise than in colours. I can't really tell you why. But i
recognized it. :-) Actually i do some graphics, and designed a couple of
homepages. I also did layout and graphics for a CD.
    It was a friend's Coverband.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Started of with SoundTracker, then Noise, then ProTracker.
I still use ProTracker 2.3a on amiga. I don't like the layout of the 3.x
    versions.
    Pc = Fasttracker 2.07 Well i can't say much. I don't like Impulsetracker,
that's just it. But fasttracker goes well around for samples.
Nowadays i don't use samples much. Oh well, i do. But when i do, i use them
in a Sampler synthesizer and use MIDI. Preferably atleast.
With amiga i use Octamed soundstudio for MIDI(yeagh!), since i ain't got
bars&pipes. I've been looking after it for ages. (My version is from 1991
or something) On pc i use either Cubase of any kind, preferably VST.
On mac there's nothing else but Cubase either.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Wow, tough question. I have to say it's a module i did, which i never found
out a name for. I still call it "demo1". It's not even finished, but i kind
of showed myself that i shouldn't be doing modules anymore if i was gonna do
em that way. It contains just about only loops and sequences from cubase and
    various synthesizers.

To answer it in a way i think you wanted me to answer it:
serene lily is probably the best mod i ever made. Not that i feel that i
reached something by doing it. I always grow tired of my own mods and start
making new ones again. Guess that even if i'd be doing Virgill mods, i would
complain on myself sooner or later.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For What reason?

  • The first tunes i did, st-xx sounds and just noisy stuff, they would probably
be most "embarrasing" even though i wouldn't wanna forget them since they're
after all a part of my own evolvement.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Good music is Good music and Bad music is Bad music. In my ears it's like that.
I have such a wide taste, and for me there's good and bad rap and good and bad
metal. Therefore i think anything would be okay, with the right
effects / game idea / design / theme / graphical presentation.
Ofcourse it'd be marked "Good" not "Bad".

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Yes, for both reasons. I still do a couple of mods a year :)
As for "professional/economically funding" purposes, i'm working on a game
right now with MIDI gear. Also, i'm part of a band, and we're releasing our
debut CD in a matter of weeks.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Ehm, I'll answer about the formats themselves.
I think it's okay. midi is REALLY outdated, but it'd take forever to make a
new system and expect every synth to have it.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • mods?
dont do this to me. I haven't been using/listening for quite a while now.
ask me again when i'm back in buisness :-)

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Audio CD with my music will be released. Actually in two forms:
Our Black/Death-Metal band will probably release CDs until we split up. I make a
    lot of music for us.
The game i'm working on will also release a "soundtrack" CD with the music
from the game. That saves me a lot of trouble.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Lately i've been a lot into Rhythm-based music, which involves Death-Metal
acts like Meshuggah or DreamTheater. Progressive and futurile. Also a lot
of Trance, Goa, Techno in general and all the sidewalks. Hallucinogen, Astral
Projection, Daft Punk, Chemical Bros, Prodigy and all that stuff. A lot of
heavier Soul and G-Soul stuff, from the veins of Prodigy to Earth Wind and
Fire to Janet Jackson, and wherever my ears tend to hear something nice
    they turn.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Friends, Friends, Friends. Computer knowledge and possession, once it was
something I did everyday and lived for. I still love it. But it's becomen a
    bad habit :-)

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • More or less. When people need me i'm active, if i put it that way. I'm not
too busy to do a demotune yet.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • I greet all of my friends that i know, or anyone that know me. That way noone
    will be left out. :-)
The forthcoming CD's will be advertised around when they're out.
If you spot it, take a closer look.
