how about setting up a database with filenames including
mod author, year, demotune or gametune (or independent),
date of release... and so on.
something like the TOSEC... we need history!

you're right. This would be fab.
We are moving forward with the database but this will take some time.

i'm aware this is a neverending task to accomplish. I have started to rename my mods while ago with infos found in sample list... Well, good luck with your database progress, i have faith in Amp

Regarding game musics, some of them are already identified like this :
(game name)music name
Granted, it's far from the whole database and there's a lot of work still to be done on this topic. It's enhanced from time to time.
