Is there a way to download music per composer per FTP or some kind of automated way? That would be brilliant.

Axxy

Nope. Sometimes it would be nice to have a "download all" from this composer button, especially with today's download speeds....

Only alternative I can think of, you can try the Modland ftp or mirror if you can.

Asle

No "download it all" available for historical reasons (mainly bandwidth when that mattered).
There's no reason today aside finding the spare time to code something usable.

worm

would love to have a download all for the entire site :)

is this just not worth considering adding? or how about ftp downloading

"Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days."

hopefully no one is too bothered about this

Asle

If you're really up for that much data, you'd better torrent you way off modarchive or ftp the lot off modland. Those are really better suited for that kind of demand.

worm

actually. I didn't even know about modland. I just always go here for any mod searches I come up with. have just started buying back amigas, so need to get a proper library going again. :)

ftp'ing all of modland now hehe

deus-ex

Just make sure to fetch data from the current host server.

worm

uh. how do I download files that start with a full stop? are about 20 mods like that

this is the first one ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Impulsetracker/Logos/.vasily%20myazin.it

everything I'm trying are either refusing to download or denying its existence

Asle

hum .. by using a working FTP client ? (filezilla for example)
and you should use ftp://modland.ziphoid.com/ instead, btw.

Hi Anarkhya,

thanks for pointing out. Though I think (Asle please correct me if I'm wrong) the pre-designed and preferred way is to use the 'Report to moderator' link which you can find on the lower right in every post. I used it to report this very post myself. This way spamers don't get to much public attention and Asle (or any mod) can remove the post completely instead of editing out its content only.

Anarkhya

Agreed. I rushed the thing a bit as indeed I could have filed a report or even PM, BTW, all our posts starting from the spammer's one could be deleted, no problem with me. As for public attention, I may disagree as I usually find relevant to show (for a brief period of time then I kill the posts) how spammer proceed when their method is not an obvious one, and I found this one a bit more advanced than usual, but of course it's my way of handling this.

I see your point and I agree, this might be helpful to train our senses. :)

Yes, I wasn't quite sure whether this qualifies as spam or not, too. I figured the report option also is a good way to not make an openly unjustified accusation which I may regret later.
