Would you say that jungle by Laurence/Mel'o'dee is a duplicate of cooperation by Laurence?

Either way, the cooperation mod has been sitting in my unknown folder for probably 20 years.... :o

Well, looking at time and file size it obviously is. Could be some pattern difference ... "Jungle" includes sample texts and the information that Mel'O'Dee was involved. Both tunes were released in scene productions... http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=44621, http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=96102. I'll leave it to Asle to decide ;) ...

Hello,

Thanks Curt Cool :)
OK, here's my take.
Thanks to Curt Cool, we know that MOD.jungle comes off the musicdisk by Vanish at the end of 1992. MOD.cooperation comes from an Abandon cracktro in Q1 of 1992. And ... both are memrips on AMP/modland.

Anyway, The differences between the two are :
1. useless set speed added in MOD.jungle (F04) - doesn't affect anything
2. The 7th sample has its data after loop end removed in MOD.jungle

Two choices, here.
-> Keep both and comment that MOD.jungle is an edited version of MOD.cooperation - and do this "evolution" thing on Kestra.
-> Trash mod.jungle and comment on Kestra.

I missed something ? Oh, and yeah, I'm updating both now on AMP with non-memrips

"unknown folder" ? can you expend on that ?
OK, it's off topic, here, but it's interesting. You would share your "unknown folder" ?
On AMP side, we are not too much on the "unknown author" side. We have our own Unknown Composers that doesn't contain too much things but it's all more or less sourced (we know where those come from).
On Kestra side, the no author list is big but not easy to trace. We have correctly set a few of them. I'll try to add a few more because 61 is definitely not the lot :)

Cheers

My current Unknown modules folder consists at the moment of 810 modules (all formats)..  This folder literally contains everything that I haven't been able to identify yet..  Every now and again I try to identify them through AMP, Modland, Demozoo and Kestra...  It's almost impossible to identify some, especially those that might be a few bytes different etc etc.

Remember this https://amp.dascene.net/forum/index.php/topic,779.0.html ?  (cooperation was one of those mods)....

Typically, when I add new entries, ie. like when AMP has added many new mods lately, I use the Find Files/Duplicates in TC, and occasionally it turns up some of the unknown modules, but rarely. Also, when I add or rip modules (back in the day), I tended to keep the date-stamp intact and cooperation was added back in 2000, where it's been sitting since I added it.  I think the jungle module was added recently and I recognised the tune and managed to find it, nothing will find cooperation when there is a 14 byte file-size difference with the jungle mod.

Another trouble with my unknown ones, not everything as released in a demoscene production, si I have no idea where they come from..

** edit **

My unknown pt (not all amiga pt) modules sits at a modest 256 (just under 40mb)....., so not as bad I as thought.  I have been rummaging through as I got nothing else to do atm. Came across a mod saying it was ripped from Worldness VI, Kestra seems to have them all from the production I presume. I can't get the .dms to work, so I can't check it. Funny, the mod is called Spring, WN VI has a intro on there called Spring/Gemini, so who knows.....
