suggestion: ftp downloading would be nice

you said that the ftp server was taken down for technical reasons.

if it is because it crashed and the new server would be incompatible you could always either set up a dedicate machine where you dont have to worry about ftp playing nice with http.

if bandwidth is the problem you could set up a torrent and post a magnet link to the archive of the mods.

torrenting technology allows the bandwidth to be handled by a different machine and by all of it's users who seed the files.

you can even get a seedbox fairly cheap that can give you unlimited bandwidth and very high storage
