Hello,

I did a little information gathering. Here's my findings, so far.

Island Of Reil and Alternate Prism don't look like the same author and should be split here. They are listed as members at the same time in Epinicion listings :)
Few productions from Epinicion are available today and I guess they are all here : https://demozoo.org/groups/30711/

To sum up :
Island of Reil
Listed in Epinicion in 1994-Oct -> 1996-Mar
sysop of Timescape BBS (619 - San Diego area ?) in 1994-Oct -> 1995-Mar
[email protected] - 1994-Dec -> 1995-Mar
[email protected] - 1995-Jun -> 1996-Mar

Alternate Prism
First listing in Epinicion is 1995-Mar -> 1996-Mar
[email protected] - 1995-Mar -> 1996-Mar

4 musics listed here have sources:
Afrochip! is a NAID 95 entry. by IOR.
Cadencia comes from Timeline PC musicdisk (1995). by IOR
DAC '95 comes from Timeline PC musicdisk (1995). by IOR
Samba comes from Timeline PC musicdisk (1995). by IOR

We haven't marked any source for the other musics.
(C)olor (O)f (R)ave - sample text says : A.Prism ([email protected])
Diamond Eyes - sample text says : A.Prism
DreamerDream - sample text says : A.Prism ([email protected])
East Wind Stream - sample text says : A.Prism ([email protected])
Free Spirit - sample text says : A.Prism ([email protected])
Into The Vortex - sample text says : A.Prism ([email protected])
Judgement Day - sample text says : A.Prism ([email protected])
Rave To Xtremes - sample text says : A.Prism ([email protected])

Those listing/infos up there are facts. Please, complete at will with anything for which I have no source. I'm inclined to go in the direction of creating a 3rd A.Prism that has no group membership and that would get the 8 listed musics without source.
I'll wait for more feedback from either of you before going forward with the change.
And yes, that would mean the Epinicion guy would remain without music.

Cheers

was able to get a friendly conversation going with jeff(geoff) rothman via facebook. he remembered me, stating how i used to be super into make mods. asked him if he and i ever collaborated or if he ever remixed any of my old songs. haven't heard back on that, but hoping he's able to set the record straight for us here.

ok good news, i just got off the phone with jeff(now geoff) rothman. it was a nice time catching up and getting my memory jogged+setting the record straight. he mentioned not having anything to do with the alternate prism music other than enjoying listening to it (and sharing the stuff w other users on various bbs's).  let me know if there's anything else to be done here?  thanks again for all your help on this!

Hey there everyone!! Geoff Rothman here. Jason was literally 13/14 years old when he created these AND  didn't have access to the internet so I used my personal (@lunatix.lex.ky.us) and college email @picard.anderson.edu to upload his MODs because they were amazing even though he was relatively newer at it. imho, this is important to get right because it kind of paved the way to the success he's had in his career now.

Let me know if I need to do anything else to vouch and have this updated for him. Obviously, the Lunatix bbs has been defunct for decades but if you need, I can send you my linkedin that shows where I have Anderson listed as my Uni and you could probably verify with TWBM or something that I haven't changed that in decades either :)

Quote from: Axxy on March 08, 2023, 13:07:02My copies of all your mods have the same datestamp 18/10/2014 22:05, which kind of suggests that possibly I ripped them all at the same time from some production, i.e. a musicdisk or something. Attached in the details of the one I have.

@AlternatePrism I would've still been in lexington July of 1994 before heading to Anderson for my freshman year that Fall. I probably let you use my lunatix email address since email didn't really exist back then, especially for 13 and 14 year olds!! And I had my college email at anderson and wouldn't have needed the Lunatix one and now that I think about it, I wouldn't have paid to dial long distance just to connect to a BBS in Lexington since my dorm had Internet in it :)))

The funny part is I don't think I ever actually created MODs...(I didn't even have a GUS). I'm pretty sure Ben and I just listened to the ones you created and thought they were awesome.

@geoffrothman, man thanks for the call last week and for chiming in here w this info! really really appreciate it. and also appreciate you helping me figure out what the heck was actually going on back then (as my memory has surely waned of late).. hopefully this gets us closer to settling things.

@asle - what is the best plan at this point?

Guys,

 With delay, once again, I've set up a new author on AMP with your (Jason's) musics. I've linked all 8 musics we (AMP) store and that I listed before.
https://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?detail=modules&view=18861

 I might have missed tons in the previous exchanges. Please tell me :)

 Also, if there's more musics around by you (Jason), you can always upload them (and poke me about it). Better to make an archive (like zip) with a small text that says who's music it is.

Once again, sorry for the delay. I'm simply out of spare time :(
