Announcements / FTP Down
December 02, 2009, 00:01:11
Ok, It's been a few days now that the FTP is down.
We apologize for this set back.
If you feel like you have something to share/send, please consider delaying your sending or if it's small enough, send it via e-mail (asle at free[.]fr)
We'll keep you updated once things come back to normal.

Xlat, via email, reported that searching the module name "unnamed" gets some unclickable results.
This is simple HTML fare for those musics are named "<unnamed>" but don't get displayed with that particular name. I guess it's true for other pseudo HTML forms. I'll fix it once I get the time. Meanwhile, clicking on the author's name and then his music, will list those all right. It's just that, apparently, we didn'tdid the right thing in the result of search part.

Files upload / 2009 October's uploads
October 16, 2009, 20:47:46
Hi,

Amongst the latest uploads (thanks !), the one of Lemonade's musics contains a strange "4CHN" file. I've upped it anyway on AMP (FST.KKRHV). It's an almost standard 4 channels TakeTracker file. However, the finetunes are all set wrong. I wonder what was the tracker used to get this result. There are more than the 16 possible values in there. Fact is that it won't play in any decent player.

Files upload / Questions about uploads
September 25, 2009, 23:05:41
Hi all,

First, thank you for uploading stuff on the FTP :).
Ok, here are some questions :
- EUIS.MOD (upped 20090107) was composed by who ?
- Oktalyzer.zip (upped 20081227) is empty
- Stamen.zip (upped 20090521) is empty
- wotw.zip (upped 20090214) is empty

- mark_zellner.zip (upped 20090603) contains SOLARBAB.MOD that is corrupted (missing 21366 bytes)

Thanks
Sylvain

Announcements / "mod" infos
September 24, 2009, 14:33:05
As you may have noticed, AMP has now a new feature. Namely, "modinfo". Thanks to Monty who fought valiantly to display all this, we are now able to provide you with this neat feature. Though, only a couple of formats are supported (MOD, STK, FST, OKT, AHX, MTM, PTM, DMF and DIGI).
So, at module list level, a new "icon" on the far right shows 'info'. Clicking on it opens a new window which contains technical information about the file.

Also, the news displayed at AMP page level come now from the "announcement" topic forum. I understand the design doesn't agree with much people, but there's room to improvement. That's another thanks to Monty for fighting hard to get this working. Design reshape will probably be done anytime soon.

as reported some time ago, groups containing '&' or weird symbols, can't be clicked (to get the complete list of authors in this group).
This is a major problem, using group names in links, instead of IDs. Fixing this is not easy, as some rewriting of somepart of the core of AMP is needed. Still, I'm on it :)

As reported some time ago, interview form is still clickable for people who passed away.
(in the detail page)

I'm on it :)

Announcements / Oktalizer songs with bad size
August 22, 2009, 03:30:47
Hi all,

As announced on AMP front page, I'll check the sizes of the 113 Oktalizer files we have. There is a problem with Exotic Ripper for this format and it can sometime be wrong.
Should be done by Sunday.

Sorry about that.

Sylvain
PS: Prowiz4PC now rips them :)

Support / Feedback / search by real name
August 20, 2009, 19:32:22
As reported by Deus-Ex :
"A realname search in the AMP online database for Hülsbeck does not give any results."

I'm on it :)
Though, an easy solution, for users, it to replace "strange" chars with "_". It would work.
I'll try to find a SQL solution.

I'm looking for the individual who composed the XM in the game Wobbly Bobbly (http://www.reflexive.com/WobblyBobbly.html)
Googling a little shows up http://shigi.wordpress.com/vgmbgm/
But since there's both an OGG (music in the start menu) and an XM (all musics ingame musics), I don't know who really did what, as "lead composer" suggests there's another composer ...

Any help would be welcome, here.

Today :
Raymond Usher
Also trashed Beej's "rip" of Walker as it was re-edited in MED ... *geee*. Replaced with original.
Thomas Volker
Which, in fact, got everything replaced as we had STK converted to PTK ...

Music database / Kargon
July 29, 2009, 06:03:01
arg .. while ripping both trainer and cracktro for Kestra, I found out that the ziks of the game Kargon are tampered on AMP. Author is Christoph Rutsch. And one song is missing.
What CD were those stored on ? Couldn't find the list handy.
Bah ... Another "fine" rip I guess, save that the files are stored as is on disks, ready to be picked up. Though, for some reason, FLT4 becomes taketracker ...
So, CD please. After that, I'll probably update and send the extra file to CurtCool.
