Definitely MilkyTracker offers the best support for the AMF format by Otto Chrons. Pailes (MilkyTracker author) released a AMF2MOD converter back then which was already quite good but lacked support for all the iterations of the AMF format. AMF support then was considerably improved and implemented into MilkyTracker.

NOTE: Support for Otto Chrons AMF format is broken in MikyTracker v0.90.85/86, but works fine in v0.90.80. You can download it from MODLAND:

ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/software/trackers/Windows/MilkyTracker/old%20versions/MilkyTracker%20v0.90.80%20Win9x%20&%20WinNT.7z

Note that I updated my previous post regarding Otto Chorns AMF format providing important information about MilkyTracker.

Do you know if this format is described anywhere ?

No, not that I know of. Pailes was able to reverse engineer the format with the help of a few original modules I provided to him. Perhaps he provided some details in the email conversation between us, but I do not have that available anymore.

I guess it's direct from composer ?

This I do not know, hence there's a chance these are conversions, too.

same remark as for CBA. Is there (didn't check) and AMF->S3M proggy anywhere ?

I'm afraid the answer is... yes (hahaha). Though this converter has its flaws. Find it (MSDOS application) attached to this post.

Is there a chance a CBA->S3M proggy exists ?

I'm afraid the answer is no. Hence I was quite exited when Pailes agreed to add support for this format to MilkyTracker so I'm able to listen to the tunes outside of the Expoze musicdisk application.

The 3 Realtech MD' i've had for years, kept them in the AMF format as they seem to play ok in modplug. Maybe Milkytracker can do a better job of converting them. Still a couple of seemed garbled but play somewhat better in milkytracker.

Expoze

From the file Expoze.nfo, included in the distribution:

*.cba  -  The music files in the Heretics CBA format
(CBA stands for Chuck Biscuits/Black Artist)

The .CBA format is actually supported by MilkyTracker. I asked/helped Pailes (author of MilkyTracker) back then to implement it.
The modules included in the production and their artists are as follows.

File Titel Artist
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Aftermix.cba After Sunset - MDisk Mix Jase
Endlsleg.cba Endless Legacy Myzer
Expointr.cba Journey's beginning Chuck Biscuits
Icftb.cba I can feel the Beat Hunz
Mirage.cba Mirage - Lightspeed II Void
  Mychild.cba My Child Jedi
  Ntrance.cba N'Trance Maral
  Panoram.cba Panoramica Chuck Biscuits
Reactive.cba Reactivate Force Format
  Release.cba Release me saNe
Virtuous.cba Virtuous Reason FireLight

Bonjour Monsieur 100.000 Mods, ;D

I hope you are doing fine. With regards to MODLAND's artistlist when I find an artist is referred to by different writings of his real name I put the correct name (which may hold specific characters) into the real name entry, the more common (latin style) one gets added to the Ex.Handles. Maybe this is an acceptable solution for AMP as well? Perhaps AMP's artist search engine would require an update to reflect this (i.e. when searching for Real name also check Ex.Handles entries for a match).

Requests / digital influences.s3m

Recently someone uploaded several tunes by the artist 'Sid' to Modland. Among these tunes the following was included:

_ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Screamtracker%203/Sid%20(DE)/digital%20influences.s3m

I recognize this tune as I had it in my favorites collection many years ago, but eventually I removed it. Unfortunately I cannot remember the artist of this tune, but I'm quite certain that it is not made by this 'Sid'. Also I think it wasn't written in the year 1998 like it says in the sample text, it must be older than that. Listening to all of the other modules of 'Sid' obviously reveals that this tune stands out against the rest of his tunes in regards to style of tracking, used samples, i.e. the overall quality.

Does anyone recognize this tune and has a hint about the true creator of this nice module?
