R-Type II, of course !

Live long and prosper.
The stage 1 music for Ghouls'n Ghosts is in the Jogeir Liljedahl mods but the mod itself states in info that this is a Tim Follin conversion. While explicitly credit this music to Tim Follin. So what happened here ?
Music database / Dupes (maybe)

Just look at mod.hi-score and mod.benefactor8 both by Blaizer..
(is there any dedicated topic I missed for dupes busting?)
Audio Trackers & Players / MOD playback fidelity ?

Salutations !

I'd like to solve a problem but I'm afraid there's no 100% sure solution, you'll tell me.
Let's pretend I'd like to listen to an amiga tune the way it has been composed, the way it originally sounded.. but on my PC.
What should I know ?
- Tracker prog used
- Tracker settings, if any ?
- Then what, should I try to emulate the amiga tracker or use some PC tracker ?
- and above all, is it useful, or is it a lost cause (:

Requests / Identifying a chip (from an mp3)
« on: December 30, 2011, 16:41:49 »
I believe this is a chip, initially, but I only have an mp3 conversion (probably bad quality) from youtube IIRC, but it seems I can't find the link anymore, besides the title does not help me much. So, if any of you recognise it...
General Discussion / Chiptunes and samples
« on: October 24, 2011, 15:29:31 »
Salutations !

I've been browsing Nes music recently and I realized that a Nes tune might not be automatically referred as chiptune, because of samples. Here was the message that made me wonder:

Castlevania III (Nes) uses just 4 samples, which are a bass drum (a mere 65 bytes), a snare drum (513 bytes), a tom (257 bytes), and the evil laugh (2,817 bytes).

But if those imported samples were also produced by a chip, it would still be a proper chiptune, right ?
I guess I'm a bit lost in definition, that's why I require your help ;)
Music Request / Unreal title theme not on AMP?
« on: April 03, 2011, 00:25:02 »
The OST is located at
the title tune should be credited to Charles Deenen composer, already known on AMP but with no modules at all. I guess it has not been uploaded because of the exotic format... ?
According to Firefox^Phenomena :

Musiklinjen should be called Hyperbased...
So I don't know where this musiklinjen title originally came from.. ?
Hi there!

Musician: Charles Callet
This is a request from an old friend willing to retrieve one of these tunes,
seems that this file is not widely spread...

Thanks for your help!
Support / Feedback / composers privacy?
« on: February 04, 2010, 09:47:21 »
Since worldwide social networks appearance, we observed an increasing struggle for preserving IRL privacy... As amp hosts loads of Real names (also real adresses with modinfos  now) I'm just wondering whats the amp "moral" position about these privacy issues.

Support / Feedback / AMP - database
« on: January 18, 2010, 17:33:54 »

how about setting up a database with filenames including
mod author, year, demotune or gametune (or independent),
date of release... and so on.

something like the TOSEC... we need history!

Support / Feedback / AMP - Logos

Report an issue regarding new approach of color management by the last stable Firefox release,
FF 3.5.x users should encounter color distortion (eg. mostly darkened and oversaturated hues) while looking at any PNG!
Check the logos section under FF3.5.x and switch via IEtab extension to see this graphic disaster happening...

my best bet to avoid this (for gimp users but I guess Photoshop have the same):
check if you have enabled "save gamma" option while saving your file into png.
[edit]: IE7 might not like this option enabled...

New features / Avatar size - problems
« on: August 09, 2009, 17:07:47 »
@AMP: How about about raising the max size of avatars? (current values: 65x65)
100x100 is my suggestion...
