The files on the FTP are out of date, and contain bugs.  I sent the latest zip to Crown, so ask him for it.  It's not an interview, so you should be safe. ;)

I'm afraid none of the links on that website worked. :(

Yes, I really should get on with writing (let alone publishing!) the documentation.  Last time I tried I discovered in the process that I'd been doing it all wrong up to that point!  Hopefully that won't happen this time.

Dunno if you know about this already, but a quick search on eBay turns up this.

OTOH...

Price $186.99, shipping $11, location Ottawa, Canada!

(Edit: fix URL)

Btw Swirly, if you find the time to paint a logo for AMP's 10 years anniversary with the faces of Monty, Asle, Curtie & Myself that would be fab.  :)

Well, I still have the South Park templates, so if you don't mind being given an equally crap treatment... ;)

Otherwise, I could probably do a more professional-looking cartoon (now that I have a scanner).  I don't have any expensive software (or a computer which could run it), so don't expect anything too sophisticated. :)

I don't think the black and white font would fit underneath, and I agree with Anarkhya - half invisible works best, so that it doesn't distract from the design, but can still be found if you want to know.

Can that last one be my official entry?

We just need three more people to pop up now! :)

All right, how's this, then?

I'm not sure about the colours - I think it might be a little too invisible against the AMP background, but at least it's not obtrusive.

I think you're right.

So... willing to do the rest of the image as well? ;)

Wow - you beat me to it.  I was just testing out my earlier theory, and came up with this.

(Font from scratch, like I said earlier.)

I think yours probably works better - it's less obtrusive, which is mainly what I was worrying about.  I admit I hadn't thought of moving the image up and putting names underneath, which is a better idea - after all, there's all that free space at the top.

Whoa, steady on, I'm not a font of fonts, y'know. ;D

The main problem, as far as I can see, would be finding room for the names.  What with only being allowed 500 pixels across, and with seven names to fit in that space and still be legible, it might be a bit of a problem.  Fitting them onto the shirts would be even worse, as well as having to sacrifice some of the detail for the sake of readability.  Take Rob Hubbard, for example - where would I fit the words 'Rob Hubbard' in?

A possible solution would be to draw them in in a pixel font above each head, which might just about do it, but it would alter the design quite radically, as well as introducing problems with showing up against background colour.

Why not? Aliasing hurt my eyes though ;)
I think we won't recognise the guys without their names. Maybe you could add them.
Oh, Heatbeat has some black pixels around his hairs, you probably forgot to remove them...

Whoops.  Yes, the black pixels are a border around the head shape left over from when I was trying to get the beard aligned properly.  They didn't show up in vector form, but obviously disagreed with the conversion to PNG.

Here's a probably rather dodgily anti-aliased version, hopefully to AMP's background colour.  Dunno what to do about names - I think having them in the image itself would make it look rather odd at the least.  Is there a facility for annotation text in the logo gallery section?

Okay, here you go. :)

Pah!  No spoiler tag. ::)

Just tried the FTP - still not working. :(

Can you give an estimate of when it'll be back up?  I have a large file I want to upload, but I can send it by email if it's going to be a while.

Personally I like the idea of a stone logo which would be a bit like the Mount Rushmore in the US.
One idea I had was for a South Park-style logo, complete with crudely-drawn portraits of various tracker musicians derived from AMP's photo collection.

I might mess around with vector graphics this evening if I'm bored enough. :)

Hrm, that's inconvenient.  I've been delaying making another Jason Page zip file, because I wanted to be absolutely sure that I hadn't missed anything this time, but I think I've got it working now.

The only tunes which are affected (AFAICT) in the latest update are those from Realms, which have had some quite serious bugs fixed (caused once again by my not bothering to implement a feature until I suddenly realised I'd found a tune which actually used it!).  I've put together a zip containing just these tunes, which is 994,508 bytes - OK if I send it by email?

OK, 'Jason_Page_2.zip' is now in FTP (9 MB - woo!).  Please let me know if anything seems obviously glitchy, as I'm not 100% confident.

New to this archive: Hopefully all the Uridium 2 music, and Realms.  (Realms was stored in an earlier version of the format, and stuffed with what our friend Jason called 'User Jumps' in the source comments - if the similarity of all the different subsongs is anything to go by, I think this was probably 'incidental' music, with smooth transitions from one subsong to another.  I suspect I'll encounter a lot more of that kind of thing when I get my teeth into the Richard Joseph format.)

...Aaand I've found the first bug. >:(

As a result, half the Uridium 2 tunes appear to be missing.

It was a pure coincidence that I even discovered that in the first place, never having played Uridium 2, but while writing the documentation, I needed a .JPN file to refer to, and I happened to pick that one, and I happened to glance at the sequence data, and I happened to notice that there was more of it than there should have been.

Anyway, I've fixed it (I hope!), along with a lesser bug which meant a few volume slides were slightly glitchy, and I'll upload a replacement archive soon.
