Title: emax - magical state...
Post by: mld on June 24, 2015, 15:57:33
Hi Asle,

Not sure what to make out of this... I was checking "Emax - Magical state" and even though the author stated it is done with pt11a it seems to have 2 note
periods beyond (good and evil... err;) the ones Amiga Protracker had. [pattern 14, ch 4, row 7 + 9]

http://amp.dascene.net/downmod.php?index=24645

Is it a disk rip? Or was it edited and resaved?

Something similar with one of Reed's mods (hot buttered iirc), which has also non amiga noteperiods just off the limit...

Hi Michael,

I confirm AMP stores a disk rip. It's coming from Autumn Nights (http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=7758) musicdisk by Palace.
I counted 5 out of range notes in there. Note that there are 3 unused patterns (modinfo file attached).

Will have a closer look tomorrow.

Cheers

Right, same '400'. Strange.
This one is also a clean disk rip from an intro (http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=25491) by Palace.

Maybe there's some sync involved, considering the 3rd bit shouldn't ever be set ?

I confirm the rip quality for both. They are, thus, replayed as is in the demos.

thanks for clearing up, Asle!

Strange, but it seems they must have hex-edited it after having saved in protracker. iirc there's a 1024 on both mods at the same position, so syncing might be a reason.

For now I'll ignore 0x400 when parsing note periods. Seems to work.
