Why not using DigiboosterPro 2 instead? IMHO much better then 1.x. Or use OctamedSoundStudio what is free.

I`ve launched my A1200 without S-S started PT2.3d and PT3.62. PT2.3d says 1966K free and PT3.62 says 1769K chip. So corona-part2 by Spacebrain -> 1.840.824 bytes should fit to load. Mods above 2MB should be playable with mod players that support fast-ram.

Do have someone experiences with PT on WinUAE? I read that you can set 8MB chip-ram on WinUAE. Recognizes/support PT the 8MB?

Practical the max. file size (guessing ~1,8MB) is a bit lower because of PT code/gfx placed in chip-ram. :) However, thats all theory. So what is the largest mod - unpacked - on AMP? Wee still need to know. :P

Yep, Protracker eats some kb Chipram. So the max. size is below 2MB. Max. sample size is 128kb (you have to copy/paste in the editor).

Compressed size doesn`t count. Real size please. :)

Hi h0ffman. I also did a pt mod with 1,2 MB of size. Would be nice to know if mods exists >1,5 MB. Also if samples larger then 64k used.

Sorry, I only want to say that different meanings about the definition of chiptunes/chipmusic exists. However, it isn`t really important. :) I would say if a tune sounds like a chiptune for you than it is a chiptune. Irrespective of sound source.

As I wrote that is only one definition. ;) Just an example:
"[...]I use '8-bit sound' term to define chiptune/chipmusic because everybody do it.[...]"
Who is "everybody"?! I never heard/read about this. If someone is saying that he/she is simply wrong. :) "8-bit sound" is 8-bit sound as "16-bit sound" is 16-bit sound and so on. I has nothing to do with music style.

Chiptune/chipmusic have (not) to use a sound chip.
Sample based music that sounds like chiptune/chipmusic is (not) chiptune/chipmusic.

As far as I know there exits more definitions. So it depends on what do you think or others might think about. ;)

I missed it a bit on HippoPlayer back then - Kari Pekka Koljonen should have spent a few more hours on coding. ;)
Indeed! :)

General Discussion / Re: Unknown authors or modules
« on: June 01, 2011, 22:47:17 »
Identifying unknown mods could be a waste of time because it is sometimes/often impossible. Myself for example, at the beginning of makeing mods didn`t changed sample text on remixes. I just didn`t care. :)
