Music database / Re: Poseidon2 by Uncle Tom
« on: February 18, 2012, 11:54:59 »
Guys,

This is definitively not from Uncle Tom:

breath of the muse from my Belgian friend Arpegiator!!

http://amp.dascene.net/downmod.php?index=3818

Haha, I love you guys! :) Crown, you and Asle are walking encyclopedias of Amiga music!

Axxy, you really have only 7 Uncle Tom's mods? :) Well, here's a brief list of my fav songs from him, I hope you'll pick something out of this list: Atmosphere,  Consert in Space, Leander 1.1, Occ-san-geen, Poseidon, Savannah, Spell Amelioration, Toi-tei.

Another interesting issue... I've discovered that Nighshade "Double Dragon 2" module from Modland is a dupe of Uncle Tom's "Atmosphere". The size is slightly different, but it's the same track.

Music Request / Re: Mountain Congress'93 - music competition

-26. Pavelo/Luzers  "Kill The Hate"  (147)

I'm sure I have atleast this module lying somewhere on my dh1:Music/Mods directory. The problem is that the man responsible for the repair of my Amiga still didn't give it back! It's been 2 years since I brought the computer to him. And it really makes me nervous. Each 3 months or so he is sending me a sort of "update" and promises that Amiga will be fixed shortly - "just give me 2 more weeks please", "I'll deliver it to your home, up and running, just give me 1 month"... I seriously start to wonder if he still has it.

As for the modules from Mountain Congress. I've asked Chaser for his entry and he replied that it's lost forever. Dunno what happened to the rest of the songs from the compo, I'm afraid they simply dissapeared. Strange.

Music database / Poseidon2 by Uncle Tom
« on: January 25, 2012, 13:38:32 »
Some time ago I've decided to check all Uncle Tom's modules to recall the tunes I liked and find the ones that I don't know. It turned out to be a great idea and I discovered lots of never-heard-before tracks. What an insanely talented guy he was! I have a question regarding Poseidon2.mod though. It's absent on AMP for some reason, but you can check it at Modland ftp: ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Protracker/Uncle%20Tom/poseidon%202.mod              Is this really his song? Doesn't sound like anything he did before and the samples seems to be somewhat newer and more modern.

Music database / monster pop vs x-mas 92 melo(n)-dy
« on: August 17, 2011, 09:56:47 »
Hm, both of the files seem to be identical... I always thought the melo(n)-dy one was the original name and had no idea where the "monster pop" title came from. Any ideas?

Who, where, when? / Re: Hi from Jellybean!

Hi Vegard!

Glad to see you here. The "Sound Vision" soundtrack (firepower) is one of my favourite mods of all time. Awesome tune, lovely melody.

There is already an open thread on AMP about that same tune: http://amp.dascene.net/forum/index.php/topic,227.msg1256.html#new

Oh zut! I didn't know there was a post on it already :)
So you can delete my thread, there's no need to post the same topic twice.

btw, any chance you could zip a large mod archive for us?

Would be yummy.  eheh

I'll send you the zip whenever Magiel fix my Amiga. Good news is that he's almost finished AFAIK :-)

Music database / Squirrelfunk by Jason Honingford
« on: November 15, 2010, 17:26:39 »
Some guy at modules.pl is looking for a music from this production: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8Yh8_rfTMQ

Everything we know is that it's named "Squirrelfunk" and was composed by Jason Honingford. We're not even sure whether it's a mod or not (sounds mod'ish with no doubt).

Any help appreciated.

Musician database / Re: Andy
« on: November 15, 2010, 17:17:31 »
Hey chief,

Here's what I understood and changed :
- Andrzej Jaromin is now called Andy with Dr. And as old nickname
- Andrzej Jaromin is now members of Illusion (ILS - ILL)
- Andrzej Jaromin has now the additional music ">> faire ses adieux ii <<"

- Arkadiusz Lakomski lost Dr. And as old nick
- Arkadiusz Lakomski lost the group and music listed above.

If there's something wrong, please yell at me :)

Was there any Amiga production released by Black Bit ?

Sylvain

It's perfect now!

Yep, Black Bit has released some stuff, mostly slideshows. Dunno whether it's downloadable anywhere though. No big loss anyways :)

Musician database / Andy
« on: October 11, 2010, 21:15:38 »
I've just discovered there is a lil' mess concerning two polish musicians named Andy (yep, they happened to have the same nickname).

In 1993 I was a member of Illusion (formerly known as Black Bit) and one of my group mates was a guy named Dr. And who changed his name to Andy. His name is Andrzej Jaromin and he is listed here under his old nick (http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?view=2155). And there is another Andy (http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?view=274). This guy has neither nothing to do with Illusion nor with the name Dr. And. And the mod "faire ses adieux" should be ofcourse credited to Andrzej Jaromin.

Hope that makes sense :-)

yeah, we would also love to receive an archive with all tune from you + other musicians that you've collected.  :)

Ah, forgot to answer your question. There are some mods on my dh1 that are absent here; the problem is that my Amiga is currently being repaired. When I'll get it back I send you the missing mods ASAP.

Hi sir,

Anadune is now removed. Maybe there's an Amiga prod by Anadune with your music :).
Now, how come we don't have an interview form filled up by you online ? Don't tell me you sent one some time ago and it's not online ... hum ? If so, please, send it to _ME_ (asle free fr) :)

First off - thanks for the lovely compliments, guys. It's been a while since I wrote an AHX song actually. But! We plan to release long delayed AHX cover pack this year, so keep your fingers crossed.

And no, I haven't sent the interview yet. I'll do it eventually. First I want to finish my wesite and complete the project I'm working on :)

There is a mod named "Young cockters" which was probably (90%) composed by Bruno and I was wondering why it is also listed as Spaceman's mod? :)

it seems to me as if  Jazz Cat/Porphyria is a different person??

Just confirming that the Porphyria guy has nothing to do with me :-)

BTW - I've just noticed there is Anadune among the groups I was in... Where did you take this info from?

Music database / Re: The oldest module?
« on: September 25, 2010, 18:07:49 »

Yep, Obarski is rather an obvious choice, but which particular song from him is the oldest?
[/quote]

OK, I just read the interview with Obarski once again and it turned out that his very first song was "Amegas". I wonder whether we can call it the first module ever created.
