On the Amiga it was the for the first time i found out i could actually do something else than playing games, namely to create something myself. Coding wasnt really me, as i'm pretty bad with numbers and all, I used to try my hand on graphics but i wasnt really gifted in that field either! :) I got into music through my family who are all big music lovers / collectors / makers. So music was the obvious choice for me. I think i started with Noisetracker, which later became Protracker. I tried Octamed too but Protracker was the one for me I can't really say. I recently found one mod by me called Numb on a website and I liked it pretty much. Funny that that was made somewhere around 1993 and it still doesnt really sound outdated. I think when doing music you never really reach your goal, as that would mean you could stop composing. It isnt really about goals anyway, more about an expression of something. I can't stand listening to chip tunes (the 2kb ones), on the other hand, they do reflect the beginning of the era of digital music! So theyre actually fossils that we should keep to play to our kids lol An essential part of it! Yes I am. I'm dj'ing for the last 8/9 years, playing drum 'n bass mainly. My artist name is DJ PAN. Also I picked up on making music again, first just to learn the technique, but for the last 1,5 years i'm seriously on the case again. It's going quite well, some bigger dj's play my tracks, and I get to see parts of the world by dj'ing, so I'm satisfied for now. I use them a lot in my new studio environment. I work with Logic Audio and software such as recycle and soundforge. I have a MOTU 828mk2 soundcard and an analog Mackie 16 channel desk as well as an ancient Roland Jx8p which I use for midi triggering and sometimes for sounds. The best composers on Amiga are Heatbeat, Audiomonster and Jesper Kyd. No. The tunes are from my past - and they will stay there! Too many to mention. I listen everything ranging from 50s jazz to funk to soul to rnb to hiphop to house to techno to drum n bass + lots more.. :) Not much, apart from that i started to learn my first lessons in making music, which now prove to be quite important! NO! I recently found some of my old scene friends again! which im very happy about, their lives are going well so thats good to hear. So greets to Fred, Stephane, Walt, Alex and Fabrice in Paris, and to my long time friends Astro and Mark! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2005 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
