  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I saw Sinclair ZX-81 in a store and typed my first programs from the manual
into it (it was a clock) must be 1981.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • 1984 - my very own Commodore 64 - playing games and on Soundmon from Chris
    Hülsbeck i startet "composing"

Amiga - gaming, founder of first 8 voices Tracker called Oktalyzer with Armin
Sander, composing tunes for a game called Death or Glory

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I liked electronic music since OMD, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, so I wanted to do
something in that way. I could better code then doing gfx, but there were
    always better ones around.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • c-64:Soundmon
    Amiga: Soundtracker, Fasttracker, Oktalyzer
PC: Fasttracker PC, Madtracker, Reason, Nuendo 2

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I think it was the three modules on the "Abortion" first selfplaying DemoDisk
    but later it was dandelion.mod

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Yeah, but I dont remember the name. I released a demo disc where you could
choose 4-5 songs to play with a simple cli script menu. In that was a tune
that wasn't from myself, but I didn't wrote it in the info. That sucked ;-)

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • I like demos, when they are synchrinized with parts of the music. The bad thing
always is, the programmers on't want to wait for the tunes, so they choose
most time already composed songs, that have nothing to do with the demo or game,
    but fit.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Yes, I am still composing. he sound is much more proffesional for sure, but I
don't earn money for it. The latest news of march 2004 is, that there will be
a remix for the famous band Snap! out in store soon. I won a competition for
remixing an old tune (cult of snap!).

I had several projects the years ago. All made just for fun. Actually i have
my project called Axess where I'm working on a debut album.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I would like to hear more DVD Sound on a Homeatic System

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Talking about demo tunes ? I got the mindcandy DVD with all the old great demos.
Purple Motion is one of the top composer for demo's.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • I can imagine that some tunes will influence my new project called Axess.
But a "best of old Chris Korte tunes remastered" wouldn't fill a long time
    player.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Seabound, Haujobb, Mesh, mind.in.a.box, Mindless Faith, Frontline Assembly,
VNV Nation, Mike Oldfield, Future Sound of London, Dead can Dance, B! Machine,
Velvet Acid Christ , Kraftwerk, Karl Bartos, Vangelis, Rammstein, Nine Inch
Nails, Nitzer Ebb, Fixmer Mc Carthy, David Bowie, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy,
Prodigy, Placebo, Skinny Puppy, Depeche Mode, Nick Cave, Dance or Die, Front
242, Delerium, Jean Michelle Jaree, I also like good Techno/Trance/Goa

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • The scene gave me nice contacts, a friend for life, free software, many funny
meetings with same mided geeks ;-)

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No. After Amiga with Xography was my last activities in the scene

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • First of all greetings to crown of cryptoburners for all the effort put into
this and the research and collecting infos! That makes all unforgetable! The
main thank you has to go to Chris Hülsbeck. His Soundmon in the C64 Magazine
    waked my music creativity!
