  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I think the year that I really got into the computers was 1990. My father
had just bought a new PC to our house and I started to explore it.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • I had my first computer related experiences with my dad's Spectavideo 738
X'press MSX in the mid-80s. And because of my young age I was unable to do
anything else but play :) Anyway, the next computer I was able lay my hands
on was a PC (286). (I never had an Amiga500 or C64. I have bought them later,
though.) Few years later we got a 386. I made a few not-so-impressing-Qbasic-
codings with the 386. To be honest: most of the time I was only playing good
olde DOS games :) I guess the big chance happened in 1995, when I got a
Pentium 60mhz - it even had a soundcard and a modem! It all became clear and
I was soon introduced to the world of BBSs, Internet, demoscene and
tracking :) The computer I nowadays use is an AMD K6-2 333mhz.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Well, I tried to do all the three. I guess I ended up doing music, because
it seemed to be the most natural choice for a pianist.. and my friend was
doing a lot better code than I :)

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • FastTracker was the first one, but I never really liked it. ST3 was _the_
tracker for me. Maybe this has something to do with my poor childhood
without a C64 or an Amiga :) Later on I started making music with IT, because
it offered more freedom than ST3.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I think I have best succeeded in "f". It has some mod-nostalgy in it,
despite being an .IT. Besides, the melodies are probably the best ones I've
    ever done.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • This one's pretty tough :) There are so many of them... maybe the infamous
"lasa majasta" (one of my first chip songs) is the one I would like
to forget. My friend's reaction after hearing my tune: "Congratulations!
You have just made the worst existing mod ever!"

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • I think music is an important element of any demo/game. Even the coolest
music can't save a demo if the gfx and code are lousy, though.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • At the moment I'm composing for leisure purposes - mainly doing some bloated
.ITs :) For a long time I have been planning to move on to MIDI, but due to
my lazy nature I have kept on tracking :)

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Definitely nothing against them. Music is music, whatever the format.
Mods still rule, because you can see how the tricks are done. That is
    probably their best feature.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • I guess the very favourite would be "~k" from dune/orange - it's absolutely
brilliant. There are of course several other favourites like: "banana split"
from dizzy, "when the heavens fall" from pm, "bag rasta" from nuke, "you luv"
from mortimer twang, just to mention a few...

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • No, not really. I think my mods should remain as mods.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • I really cannot answer this question, because my music taste is a bit too
broad. Let's just say everything from Eartha Kitt to St. Germain :)

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • As I was born too late I kind of missed both amiga- and c64-scene..
But I surely do enjoy watching amiga/c64-demos and listening to old music.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Not as active as I used to be few years ago. In general the demoscene
activity seems to be decreasing.. at least here in Finland.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • I would like to greet following people: duet, baud, foze, subzero, sape,
juzdie, tribe, rm, unseen fate, jean9, pyksy, wayout + all the members
of following groups: cheddar, rtp!, gzar, jumalauta, ksm!, kahvila
