    Date of birth: 1967

  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • 1982. A friend of mine had a Commodore VC20. I visited him really often and
was interested in the things you can do with a computer.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • So in 1982 my parents bought a VC20 for me.
I tuned it up with the graphics-enhancement-card.

I learned my first programming language BASIC.

Using this language and later on a little bit of assembler
I tried to make some "graphic demos" and my first tunes.

    After that I bought a C64.

Here I played with Dolphin Dos, reprogramming the operating system
    and continued making some tunes.

During this time we formed our first own "group". The name was LSD
(Lawless Software Department... silly name, isn`t it? :).
Some of the members of this group joined KGB later on.

    Now an Amiga 1000 followed.
It got 2 RLL-harddisks and on this machine I was able to make
the first tunes that was worth hearing. :)

During this time TRISTAR was found and KGB was put into this organization.

After that an Amiga 2000 was the end of the line.
Turbo Board, 25MHz, lots of SCSI-equipment (harddisks, DAT-streamer,
    Syquest-drives).

During the A2000 time TRISTAR fusioned with Red Secor Inc. and became TRSI.

Now I tried my first steps in "C" and used the Octamed.

A1000 and A2000 are still standing in my computer room.
I don`t know if the A1000 is OK, the A2000 seems to have a problem
    with the power supply. :(

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I had to visit military, then started studying computer sciences.
After studying I married and now I have to work the whole day in order
to pay for my Ferrari and the ranch in Texas. :))

So... there`s no time to continue composing.
Perhaps when the children left the house... then I`ll continue
    on a 1THz Pentium 9 with 500GB RAM. :)))))))

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • VC20, C64 - forgotten (perhaps PEEK and POKE?!?)

Amiga: something from Aegis (forgot the detailed name)
    Protracker
    Octamed

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • The one that I composed for my later wife. :)

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • no

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Music has to make fun.
A tune has to be melodic.
I hate Heavy Metal or Rap-Songs. They are not melodical enough for my ears.
If the graphics part of a demo/game ist fantastic, the sound should
    represent that, too.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • No. I told you under point 3.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • MP3 ist great.
    Especially when you have a MP3-capable car-radio.
10 hours of music on a single CD-ROM is really wonderful.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Computer songs: everything from SLL
The sound from the Enigma Phenomena-Demo. It's pure genius.

"Real" songs: the songs of the 80's (including the german NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle)).

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • no

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Everything without Rap, Techno or Heavy Metal.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • I offered my complete youth to it.
While others started playing with girls, I played with computers.

My mother said: "I'll never be a grandma. Why did we bought this stupid computer?'

But now she has two nice grandchilds and I earn my money by sitting
the whole day in front of a computer.
In fact, the buy of the VC20 was the best idea my parents ever had (of course
setting me into the world was another great idea). :)

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No.
I have contact to some of the old guys.
We send mails from time to time.
But I'm not active any more.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • I greet everybody who knows and remembers me.
Especially the TRSI hardcore-members: Flynn, Irata, McLoud,
Hamster, TSM, Warhead, Guybrush and Flake.

I think I have to say "Hello" to the party animals from Radwar.

Then I have to greet M.M.Vivaldi from Spain who was the funniest contact
    I ever had.
