    Handle: Sonic Range (Ex-Beathoven)

    Group: Infect

    Date of birth: 11.April 1976

  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • When a friend of mine bought his first AMIGA and showed me the first
Soundtracker (yes, that one with Axel F. on it!), I just had to get one
for myself. That was in 1989.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • AMIGA 500 - games, music
    AMIGA 1200 - music, graphics
    486 DX2 60 - getting used to windows
    486 DX4 100 - I found FastTracker and started making music again.
    Pentium 133
    Pentium 200MMX
Pentium2 350 - No I have MadTracker and love to make cool music!

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Because it's a great feeling to listen to selfmade beats. It's nice to look
at pictures, but music is something more.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • SoundTracker (AMIGA)
    NoiseTracker (AMIGA)
    StarTrekker (AMIGA)
    ProTracker (AMIGA)
    FastTracker (MS DOS)
    Cakewalk Express (WINDOWS)
    FastTracker again (MS DOS)
    MadTracker (WINDOWS)

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • With every mod I made - but with every newer track I thought, I am reached
    it again, hehe!

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For What reason?

  • no.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Music can set you into different moods. So I think, a scary game (or movie)
isn't scarey without the correct sound/music. It's one of the most important
    things in life.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Both.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I hate MIDI, because it sounds different on different soundcards. I love
MP3, because, now I am able to make really memory-intensive mods (MT2s) and
just convert them to MP3 to make them small enough to spread them around
    in the net.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Axel F. (Carsten Obarski's Sound-Tracker Version)
    Turrican2-Theme (by Chris Hülsbeck)
    Most songs of Jogeir Liljedahl
    Overload-Soundtrack (by Mantronix & Tip)

    too much to annouce here....

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • I already did it!

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Nothing special. I just listen to the music I like. I don't go to the
CD-shop and buy a CD just because band "x" did it.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Long time great fun!

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Yes, the MP3-Scene.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • All the Infect-Members! And all my friends makeing MP3-music!
