  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • Think it was back in 1984. A friend had an C64 and we played BoulderDash all night long.

A year later I took a two hour bus trip to the nearest computer dealer to get my own.
There were some simple music programs for the C64 and that started my real interest in computers. I was thrilled that I could create my own music even thougt I couldnt play any instruments.

Some years later I got my hand on my first Amiga500 and there. I just loved it.
The ideas had always been there but now I could realize them!

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • C64, A500 old, newer A500 (better sound), A3000.for playing games and throw away shitload of hours of my life with trackermusic :)

Powermac-something, Powermac6100(chipped to 80Mhz- wow) Still used that one until a year ago when my 5 year old som trashed the keyboard... Had some Midi equip and still has. I was very well confident with the sequencer called Studio vision pro. I need to get my hands on an old mac keyboard..... Guess I'll have to by some old junkmac to get a kbd..

Several different PCs. Mainly for normal household use. Havent had the time to learn the ultracool Propellerhead Reason to create more music. Bought a 4x midi interface but I havent had time to install and learn a new sequencer. Why oh why didn't they convert Studio vision pro and OpenMusicSystem for windows..
Some laptops for use in my work.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?.

  • I tried my best on all areas but coding was to hard for this fuzzy artistic brain, had no cantact to help me learning it. I was the only computer nerd in my village.

Art and design is ony of my main interest. But more with real paper then pixelling around.
Well i made some graphics but never releas..
Oh yes... I mad a music disc with own gfx and tunes..
The name was Twisters Earwax collection.
Dont remember for wich group. Anarchy or Equinox..
Maybe there are somebody whos has it.
Wait... back at my moms place there might be some disks.

The music never stops playing in my head.
Those cool tunes wich never reached my ears!
Of cours I had to try to get them out and let others listen! :)

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • I think i liked Protracker 2 most. Never had patience to learn octamed and such
Protracker was so easy, fast and comprehensive!
Later years I have been looking at PC versions but I'm to lazy to collect a samples library :-P
I Found a nice tracker for linux some months ago. seems cool but it locks up my computer every now and then so I have to reboot..

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Hmm depends on mood. But one tune that almost sounded as it did "in my head" was Hunting downtown. The tune is lost but I have a corrupt file for someone to mend :)
It was on the Earwax collection by the way. Hm I don't remember the names on my tunes...
I have to look for them on my mac... i managed to save some to that machine.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Much of what I made was experimental crap. But I never released something I disliked.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • In a demo where the effects are syched to the music its vital!
    Just check "Farbrauchs" PC-demos! wow!
In a game it has the same value as in movie soundtracks. Its a "mood-booster".
Cool word :) Did I invent it? right now? ;)

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Now and then I compose for leisure, only with MIDI hardware.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Nothing special. midi and mods have some similarities.
A mod always is a mod!

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • There was an in-game tune in a finnish game... was it coloris? Hmm nah.. don't know.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Would be fun to recreate the tunes with better sound, yes. It was 15 years ago but still today my old tunes pops up in my mind :) But no real plans, no

  • 12-What bands are you currently listening to?

  • Almost everything from 70's to techno. chart-pop and rock. electro, disco.
I don't stick to a certain band, more to certain songs. I've got a free mind :)

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Nostalgia :) I dont have any contact with the people from the scene nowadays.
Its a pity because I liked to brainstorm together with other nerds :)

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Have not taken the time for that. Our lives look completely different nowadays

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • You asked for someone to greet. One special name pops up and thats Deetroy! from Equinox.
My handle then was Steam (until some other guy started to use it) We lived in the same village
and spent quite some time together at home and on some "copyparties" tracker-jamming and having
some beers :)... In his interview he tells us that the scene got him away from trouble and I can verify that!
So Yes, the scene really changed peoples lives!

Would be nice to have contact to the people i coworked with from Anarchy and Equinox.
Sorry but I don't remember their handles or real names.
You see I'm an old man today :)
