  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • It started pretty much right after I got my Amiga 500 in 1988. I've been playing
drums since the age of 2 and keyboards from the age of 5 and my father was a
guitarplayer. My interest for computermusic was even more boosted after a series
of articles that Bjorn A Lynne (Dr.Awesome/Crusaders) wrote for a Norwegian
computermagazine where he had a crashcourse in using Soundtracker.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • I had a C64 but I didn't compose any music on that one. I used it for games.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • As mentioned earlier, I was and still are a musician and sitting endless hours
in front of the screen watching assembler language wasn't quite my cup of tea.
I never was any good with computergfx and I never noticed the time when I were
    composing on the Amiga...

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • I dug deep into Protracker and it was my only program I ever used for composing
    music on the Amiga.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I still haven't :-) HAHA Well, I'm kind of a jazz/fusion guy so some of my latest
stuff made back in 91/92 after No Limits folded under a companyname called
SoundSystems whhich was a friend of mine (E.X.E/No Limits and myself) I made
some pretty decent fusionstuff that I'm fairly satisfied with... Close Season
and Reaser are two modules I like to hear from time to time...

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • HAHA... A lot... I have SO much crap on my old Amiga modules disks you wouldn't
believe it... But I made one song called Twilightning once that the other guys
in No Limits thought "Sucked the big white load" and I had to admit that myself
    eventually...

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • A demo without matching music isn't a complete demo in my opinion. It can be the
essential part of the demo, just look at Phenomenas "Mars" demo (don't remember
it's exact name) with TIP and Mantronix... Great stuff and even greater music!!

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • At present I'm still composing but not on computers anymore. I'm a semi-pro
drummer and play mostly live and do occasional studiowork for people that
hire my skills... I'm also a collector of vintageinstruments with the
emphasize on old electric pianos (Rhodes forever!!!) I have 5 of them now...
I still have my Amiga though and from time to time I bring it out from the
closet and have a good time listening to the old stuff... I plan on arranging
some of my old fusionstuff for my fusionband and play it lice with my band some
    day... We'll see :-)

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • To be perfectly honest I'm not that much into todays computer music scene but I
know that a lot of the Amiga guys made the transition to the PC and are doing
very well these days. Jesper Kyd (an alltime favourite of mine and a very
gifted musician) are doing computergamemusic today and Jason/Crusaders (Kim
Jensen, Norway) also a great musician writes music for Innerloop and "I'm
Going In" games... There are a LOT of great musicians out there but I haven't
managed to keep updated I'm afraid...

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Hmmm... I guess EVERYTHING that Charles Deenen from Maniacs of Noise did back in
the late 80's on the Amiga is superb. He really was one of my idols when it
came to composing computermusic... Tip and Mantronix were the "Hip-shit" and
wrote amazing songs that suited the demos extremely well... Walkman is a another
amazing musician... This is a hard question... I cannot answer this one at
    this point... Sorry...

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • No not really... I have a lot of unreleased stuff but I guess it'stay in my
closet... I'd like to make a CD though but for personal use only... But as
previously mentioned I'd like to play some of my music with my fusionband
    some day...

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • A lot of stuff, ranging from 50's blues to modern electronica... But my
favourites these days are Soulive, Mezzoforte, Luke and a lot of toher stuff...

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • A lot of great memories, great friends and good music!!

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No I'm not...

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • If anyone out there still remember me or we've been in touch some time in the
past feel free to mail me. Also, if you should happen to listen to my tunes
(don't know if they're out there or not...) I hope you enjoy listening to
them as much as I loved making them. Also thanks to Crown/CRB for contacting
me. This really brought out a lot of great memories!! Take care y'all!
