Handle: Crazy Man - Dark Angelus

    Group: Trackers At Work

Date of birth: 03rd May 1985

  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • It was in 1989. I was very young (only 4years old!) but my father was an amiga
freak actually. He told me about games firstly, and music after that. I was
quite interested in AMOS too, my father used to make some little games for me,
so he told me how he made these games. So mainly it was only about games in the
    beginning.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Nothing :) I was too young, i can't remember now. Maybe some C64,
    for games.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I've been into music very young. My parents have always told me about music,
every kind of, respect, classical, melodies, ... Paradoxically, my father's
more into GFX than music, but I've been stuck with some melodies i heard on
some games. I knew that it was some tracked songs, so I went to music only
thanks to feelings and pride :p

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • - On Amiga : From OCTAMed 3.0 to OCTAMed 5.04. Mainly on the 5.04 version.

    - On PC : Fast Tracker 2, ModPlugTracker, Fruity Loops, Buzz Tracker. I used
FT2 for a long time, from 2000 to 2003 (constantly i mean), after I added
effects with MPT (so it was a combo FT2 - MPT) and now, Win XP pisses me
    off,
FT2 doesn't work anymore, so I went to Buzz Tracker. I find it very good :)

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • There're 2 musics actually...

    - "Madness" (under DarkAngelus Handle)
For the first time I managed to mix some Gothic Metal, Electro
& a Deep Dark Mood, with a slow beat, some melodies and... well
feelings are the most important thing to me.

    - "Stella Sonata" (under DA handle too)
It's my own little sonata. About happiness, joy, love, feelings.
I never thought that i could put so damn much feelings into a track.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Actually no. Tunes are memories for me, a part of me. I can't forget :)

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • A big one! Music creates the mood of the demo / game, it's essencial.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Yes I proudly am! Always for leisure purpose, but i would like to make a
living out of this, even if it's hard. But for now I keep on releasing freely
    my music.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • It's good, this is evolution, from 4channels to 32, 8bits samples to
16bits,... But I don't care that much about the format. I care about what it's
    inside the music.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata For Piano N°14 => THIS RULES!!! And it ain't
    gonna stop!
Evanescence - My Immortal => I just love the way it's progressive, powerful.
    Barber's Adagio => Simply great
Metallica - Nothing Else Mathers | Cradle Of Filth - Thank God For The
    Suffering
    And so on...

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Why not? I'm not planning itself actually, but if I could, for sure!

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Hell... quite a hard question! So here you have my favourites music bands :

    - Metal : Evanescence, System of A Down, Slipknot (yes), MManson, ...
    - Symphonic / Athmospheric Black Metal : Dimmu Borgir, Cradle Of Filth, ...
    - Trance : Ferry C, Rank 1, Tiesto, ...
    - HipHop : Dr Dre, Eminem, 50cent, Snoop Dogg, ...
    - RnB : J Lopez, Sean Paul, ...
    - Classical ; Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Albinoni, ...

And all my friends all around the world that makes music :)

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • The tracking power and the fact that I want to make music above all. When I
saw some "romeo knight"'s music, i've been just stuck... All this control,
this power with only 4 channels and one or 2 samples... Amazing is the word.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Yes, still pissing off the world and proud of it! I'm not that good, but i try
to be in the most styles than I can. I've got so much things to learn.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • - I would like to thank my father, thanks to him I know tracking :)
    - My family around, who keeps my head up sometimes.
    - My cyber friends, thanks to them i'm still alive.
    - Special greetz to my crew, Trackers At Work and to NZone New Formation Crew.
