Amiga Music Preservation (AMP), a non profit association, is running the largest and most comprehensive database ever about amiga music and amiga musicians. All the composers of the amiga deserve to be remembered and to have their work preserved. We tried all we could on our own but although it's growing all the time, now we seriously need you to help us one way or another.

07.01.2024 (16:30) - Modules bonanza 2024 - by Curtcool
So, in the past week, we added a ton of modules (well, over 1700 at least), mostly Amiga stuff from old times, including a few from various renowned composers. We would like to thank everyone who uploaded stuff to the server, DesertFox who put up a - quite unsorted - 6-CD collection on archive.org and I (Curt) would like to thank my old friend nME who I used to swap with from 1994 and way into the 90's for finally allowing me to dig into his extensive mod collection from back then. Enjoy it, it could very well be a while until something similar occurs - but if you have an old mod/demo/adf/dms collection of your own, we would of course appreciate the upload ;D, thus making it more likely to happen sooner.

Dear readers,

And there it is. Once again, and I should say "already", it's a new year that starts today.
As such - and to everyone - in the name of the AMP team, I wish you all the best for 2024.

It has become normal but it's not. So, I must thank all individuals who have sent us information and/or material to enrich the collection. For several years now, there has been a steady flow from many people. People who reached out to us; and that's really appreciated.
On that note and as a reminder, should anyone wishes to upload stuff, just drop it here: https://amp.dascene.net/upload/. Please make sure it has clear authorship (add a text file if not) !

News-wise, I don't have much to share for 2023. Curt Cool was still his usual self by uploading tons of stuff and he managed to win a couple of party compo too ! Monty did some major security fixes. Crown is .. probably watching from afar :).

Some figures:
new musics : 2.853
updated musics : 111
new author : 355
removed author (merge/fix/etc.) : 29
updated author : 457

Be safe.

17.12.2023 (16:32) - December Feelings - by Curtcool

As a treat for the festive season, we were asked by Browallia, editor of Versus and maker of various bitjams to select a few modules for a nice mix of December Feelings. So we teamed up to carefully curate roasted chestnuts tunes by composers voted for by people in Versus between 2003-2023 for the very best of December Feelings. (and yes, the link gets you an MP3 of the mix).

* 20 modules (.mod) from
* 20 Amiga musicians over
* 20 years (Versus 2003-2023)

Mixed to over 60 minutes of great music. Extra snowie kudos to Esau and banner gfx by Unlock. And not to forget, merry christmas from the AMP and the Versus team.

01.01.2023 (12:09) - 2023 - by Asle
2022 is gone ... 2023 has come,

This is season greetings, so to everyone; in the name of the AMP team; I wish you all the best for 2023.

Although 2022 looked like an attempt to return to normal after two crazy years, the worldwide health crisis is still lurking around. So I extend my wishes with a good health to you all.

This year, once again, many sent us material to enrich the collection. 2022 was no different in that regard. As such, I must thank everyone who has provided us to us with either information or material. Many people, again , and that's truly appreciated.
Should anyone wish to upload stuff, drop files here (no size limit)

A special note this time about those uploads. While they are REALLY appreciated, please consider sending archives and a description of what is uploaded (a few word in a text file). A contact email might be useful as well since some uploaded material is disregarded and I would like to explain why (broken file / already online / etc.).

News-wise, 2022 was very uneventful for AMP. No news from Crown and Monty for some time now. Curt Cool is dedicating a lot of time on preserving disks / collections (C64/Amiga) - contact him if you have disks lying around.  If you are an old BBS sysop (any platform) and the material+listing is still available, please contact us also !.

 Some figures:
 new musics : 2.848
 updated musics : 245
 new author : 238
 removed author (merge/fix/etc.) : 12
 updated author : 388

Be safe.

11.09.2022 (18:25) - Maf has passed away! - by Crown
A sad news today as we have just been informed that Maf (Benoît Charcosset), a talented and very friendly French demoscene composer, has died. He was fighting against cancer but unfortunately lost the battle.

We invite you to listen to his modules: http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?detail=modules&view=4491 and read the interview he did for AMP: http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?view=4491&detail=interview

Rest in Peace my friend!

Dear readers,

And here we are, once again ! It's a new year that starts today.
So to everyone; in the name of the AMP team; I wish you all the best for 2022.

Once again, 2021 was barely different than 2020 - which was strange, in many ways !

As usual, I would thank everyone who has sent us information and/or material to enrich the collection. We saw once again a steady flow of material this past year. Many people, again , reached out ! and that's really appreciated.
Should anyone wishes to upload stuff, please make sure it has clear authorship (add a text file if not) !

News-wise, 2021 was mostly uneventful for AMP. Curt Cool was still the upload beast we know and love, and Monty did some fine-tuning server wise.

28.08.2021 (20:08) - Paul van der Valk passed away - by Crown
We are very sad to announce that Paul van der Valk has died on August 12th, 2021.

On behalf of the AMP team I am addressing my condolences to his family and loved ones.

We had the opportunity to interview him back in 2001 and he will be remembered as a fantastic musician and as a humble and very kind person.

Hello to you all,

So there it is ! It's 2021 now.
To everyone, and in the name of AMP team, I wish, to all of you, all the best for 2021.

What a strange year this 2020 has been !

Again, I would thank, as usual, everyone who has sent us information and/or material to enrich the collection. Quite a lot of people, again this past year, did send us material ! and that's really appreciated.

News-wise, 2020 had its share of events. We migrated again to a new server where several issues awaited us :P. We went off the air this past year for a couple of weeks. But all in all, we are still around and up there sharing tracked material :)

Be safe.

19.05.2020 (09:02) - Jeroen Tel - by Curtcool
In co-operation with Nah-Kolor, AMP are now happy to make the gathered Amiga works of legendary games composer Jeroen Tel (of Maniacs of Noise) available to the public. Today it is his birthday, so, happy birthday Jeroen - and good luck with the new album.

In 2019 Nah-Kolor made "Time Will Tel", a musicdisk of the best tracks Jeroen did on Amiga - go download it on pouet (youtube link should be available shortly)

Just to make things easier, go download the modfiles of Jeroen Tel, of course including the mods from "Time Will Tel":

14.01.2020 (11:49) - We appreciate your support! - by Curtcool
...and ... finally ... we use it as well.

In other words, we are happy to announce that all of the support (in the form of modules and collections) that you have provided us with via the (now defunct) amp ftp over the past few years have been sorted and all the tunes not already in the collection has been added.

Thank you very much for your support, all of you and sorry for the delay.
As the changes and modifications list shows, quite a lot of stuff was added in the past few days and weeks, including quite a lot of real, old, 1990's Amiga modules from known and not-so-known demoscene composers - or in other words, the core of AMP's reason to exist.

So, enjoy!

And .. here we are, it's 2020 already !
So, to everyone, and in the name of AMP team, I wish you all the best for this new year.

This is an opportunity to thank, as usual, every individual who has sent us information and/or material to enrich the collection. Wayyyy to many, yet again, to list you all here.

As far as news go, 2019 was an eventful year, for sure. We migrated to a new server, switched ftp to a cloud, had our share of panic moments when we went off the air for a couple of weeks, etc. Hopefully, it'll be smooth sailing for 2020 :)

25.06.2019 (19:00) - We reached 150.000+ modules - by Crown
Today is a new milestone for the Amiga Music Preservation Website as we now host more than 150.000 musics. It took 19 years and a lot of time and efforts from truly passionate people. :)

On behalf of the team (Asle, Curt Cool, Monty) I want to thank all supporters and contributors for making it possible.

There are still tons of Amiga music to be preserved so please keep providing us with missing modules, information, etc. so that we have 20+ years of work.  :)

Have a lovely day!

31.03.2019 (21:15) - new server and collateral changes - by Asle
To all our users,

Going back a few weeks ago, we have migrated AMP to a new server (taking care of PHP7 mandatory upgrades and the like). The announcement is only made now since we have had various difficulties here and there.
You can see one of the consequences in the Forum. The old design wouldn't fit anymore with this way more up-to-date version. The second main consequence is the FTP which had to go. The way our new server is set up wouldn't let us easily create an FTP sever. We opted for a cloud solution (Nextcloud). That way, whoever wants to send us something needs only to drop that "something" on https://amp.dascene.net/upload/.
