I was immediately interested in programming. I had a ZX Spectrum, An Atari ST, an Amiga 500, 4000 and a PC. I used to code "pokes" for Spectrum games. I loved the Atari demos and music but didn't start creating music until I got SoundTracker on my Amiga 500. Well, the main reason is I suck at gfx, and my coding isn't up to demo standards, and I have always enjoyed music and SoundTracker gave me the perfect tool for my style of composing. I originally used SoundTracker, ProTracker and then OctaMED, but just using 4 channels and saving in PT format. I'm getting back into composing again and find myself using OctaMED again... just seems easy to use. Hmmm, tricky question. I don't really have an actual goal as such. There are some mods I am more pleased with that others. "Clockwork" is probably one of my better efforts. LOL, most of my early work on our first Music Demo, mainly coz I hadn't used the tools as effectivly. Not technically very proficient, and iffy melodies :) IMHO, music is paramount to the enjoyment of a demo, or a game. An absence of music would seem incomplete, and the quality can make or break the success of a demo/game. I'm just getting back into composing 4 channel mods, and trying to get back into the Amiga Scene just for leisure purposes. They can sound nice, but they don't compete with a well composed mod for enjoyment. Just about everything by Lizardking and 4-Mat. Those guys are geniuses. Maybe if I ever compose anything worthwhile :/ Morrissey, Dubstar, St Etienne and much more. It did, and hopefully will give me much enjoyment and satisfaction. The Amiga scene was and I hope still a very friendly place to exist. I stopped in 1990 as secular work took over my time, but from 2004 I am oficially back :) I'd like to greet my old friends Spyder and MD. It would be great if we could reacquaint ourselves. I'd also like to greet all involved in the Amiga Scene and congratulate them on creating a fantastic Scene that I'm proud to be a part of. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2005 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
