  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I dunno - it's always been there since I was very young (and in my time
computers were considered as something totally uncool). I guess when you're
a computer freak it's just something you have to do in your life :)

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Texas TI99/4A - Programming in Basic & Extended Basic
Amstrad CPC464 - Programming in Basic & Z80, coded own music rutine & some
    lousy music
ZX81 - Hmm, this was just used for interfacing & school hardware projects.
Amiga A500 - Coding 68000 & doing music with trackers, and later with own
coded SISSEl tracker which used both samples and elaborated chip sounds
    (producing nice but short tunes).

PCs (a number of them) - Restarted Programming - BlitzBasic, very recently
C# to hopefully restart doing demos/games. (hmm I guess you're not interested
in my PC programming of database & commercial applications)

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Actually my main line is coding. However I love music (I play the guitar
as well) & computer music was a natural refresh from long coding sessions.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Mostly Sound/Noise Tracker on Amiga, and my own SISSEl. Recently had a go
at some music progs on PC (not just trackers), but I don't have much time
    for music at the mo.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • There were a couple of tunes (although I don't remember the names - oh come
on this was ages ago) which were ripped from one of my demos and used by
other groups in their demos (without me knowing, but who cares?). They also
said the tunes were good so I guess they were quite ok. Sadly I lost all
my tunes when I HAD :( to make the transition from Amiga to PC.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Lots of them. I used to do music for fun not for competing with others,
and I did lots of crap music, luckily mostly unreleased. The two tunes you
have on your site are not nice either.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Music gives the vibe to a game and even more to a demo. A game *might* be
able to pass away with not so good music, but a demo will definitely have
    a hard time.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I'm a bit out of touch nowadays. However with the improvement of technology
and the possibility of MP3 I feel inclined to do something.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I am still a fan of tracked music (.xm, .it, etc), and even chip muzak.
However I see potential in MP3s as filesize becomes less important. I still
see a future in a mixture of tracking (with high quality samples) and pure
recorded wav (eg guitars) mixed in MP3s.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • I still remember the music of the demo Doc deamons are forever, maybe because
it was one of the first really good tracked tunes I heard which made me
want to use soundtracker. There were a lot of really good tunes around,
and I can honestly say that mine weren't part of them. Recently I am listening
to some good tunes by !Cube and by Nitro.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • No. However one of my dreams is to someday make an audio CD together with
    Relliker (also of Phaze 101).

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • My usual stuff is old rock Pink Floyd, Genesis (OLD tracks), Jethro Tull,
Emerson Lake & Palmer, Dire Straits etc.
Sometimes more "light" stuff like Rick Wakeman (I recommend the 6 wives
    of Henry VIII), JMJarre
When in the mood, old heavy metal - Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Rush, Metallica
etc.. Sometimes commercial stuff like Offspring, Ugly Kidd Joe etc.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • The good old times which I'd love to relive any day.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Not in the scene as such. However I'm trying to get the "good old days"
    back with free/shareware productions.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Greetz to all (ex-)Phaze 101 members, old friends such as JPN & Predator,
guys at (ex-?)Pantheon Softworks, and newer acquaintance such as !Cube and
Nitro. Thanks to you guys for having a site dedicated to Amiga music.
