  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I started coding stupid 1Kb games in 1981 on the Sinclair ZX81
and I never lived without a computer since then.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • - Sinclair ZX81: playing, coding
    - Apple 2e: playing
    - Thomson Mo5: only coding (the machine was too shit to play)
    - Amstrad CPC 464: playing, coding, cracking (ooops...), making gfx
    - Amstrad CPC 6128: same as above
    - Amiga 500: playing (a little), coding, making gfx and music, swapping
    - PC 386: making gfx and not much more
    - PC 233MMX (with a lot of things around it): playing, making gfx and
    MIDI music

Plus a lot of consoles (Atari 2600, NES, Super NES, Gameboy,
Master System, Megadrive, PlayStation, N64, Saturn)

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I actually ended up making music, gfx and coding, but I must admit that music
takes less time to do than anything else. You can do a listenable tune in 1
hour, but drawing something nice or coding something interesting is much much
longer, so I think it's why I don't code anymore and have nearly stopped
making gfx. I actually nearly stopped making everything, but I plan to come
back to music as soon as possible.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • The first one I used was on the CPC and it was called "BASIC" as no real
music proggy existed at that time.

On the Amiga, I used Karsten Obarsky's SoundTracker 1.0, then the famous
    ProTracker (what else?!).

I now mainly use MIDI programs. I'm not too much into that "Tracker" stuff
anymore, but I have to admit that the latest versions of "Modplug Tracker"
and "Real Tracker" could take me back to the tracker world.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • None of them, I listened to them some weeks ago and they were pure shit!

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For What reason?

  • All of them, for the same reason, but especially those that have been released.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • I'm not the demo lover I used to be, because all demos now look the same
(Hey, guys, do you know something called "3Dfx"? I think it could give
something to the demo scene!), but if the music is shit, the demo is shit.
By the way, please stop making demos that only recognize the GUS soundcard!
    Who owns this card anymore???

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Unfortunately not! I composed a few MIDI songs, but nothing serious.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • As I said, I now only use MIDI. I don't really care about Mpeg, it's cool for
videos, but as long as there won't be any Mp3 stand-alone readers, who will
care about it? Wave??? Can you do something with wave??? It's great to add
wave sounds to MIDI or "real" stuff, to re-master a song or to use in Tracker
programs, but "wave only" programs like "Music maker" or "dance Ejay" don't
    have much interest.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • I too old too remember everything, but I liked the tunes by Rhesus Minus of
Cryptoburners (especially "Daisy Chain"), Random Voice of Symbiosis, and a
lot Norwegian and Swedish guys whose names I don't remember!

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • - An audio CD? Yes!
    - Remastered Amiga music? Maybe a few ones!
    - When? I really can't tell!

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Mainly electro-industrial/gothic bands, like: Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein,
Cobalt 60, FrontLine Assembly, Das Ich, Apoptygma Berzerk,...

And also a few French rappers like Passi or Stomy Bugsy, but not too long at
    one time.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • A bit of fame, but nothing I can use now.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No time for it.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • My old mail-mates all over the world if they remember me (I probably don't
remember all of them, so I won't give any greetings list)

By the way, Crown, nice to hear from you after all these years!
