  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • In 1986 when I got myself a C64. How can this not spark some interest in
    computers? :)

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • - C64 (some were discarded, some were repaired, some were rebuilt etc.
    currently I have one)
    - VIC-20 (which I still have, but it's incomplete atm.)
    - Commodore PC-40III (charming old shit kicked out to where it belongs
    (the scrapheap))
    - Some lame Pentium PC (which I sold to buy an A500 and accessories)
    - A500 (still have it, but it got kinda messed up)
    - A600 (still have this, merged it with an A1200)
    - A1200 (merged with the A600 to produce...)
    - The A1800 ("the" A1800 cause it's one-of-a-kind.. seeing is believing
;).. the pride of my work desk ATM)
    - A4000 (that broke, but then what A4000 doesn't.. golden and extremely
shiny case, keyboard and monitors. It's encrusted with fake jewels in
a stylish manner. I sold the parts that worked but kept the case cause
    it's shiny 8)
    - A PeeCee which makes me money (and I am not proud of this)
    - I had an IBM mainframe for a short while but it wasn't mine so it went
home. It kicked ass when sorting large databases. :)
    - A not-yet-completed portable A1200 (this will make you gasp one day).
    - Also I have various ancient consoles in the closet along with an A2000
    that I've never really used.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I do all those, as well as ASCII, diskmag articles and swapping (although
swapping died recently, which is a shame). It's a pity to specialize in one
particular thing, even if that thing's music, because you'll end up dying
and having missed a lot. Live while you can, who knows if you get a second
    chance.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Protracker 4, the buggiest Protracker to date, but it works and is kind of
nice. This is my tracker of choice for God knows what reason.. I guess it's
comfy. In the past I liked PT2.3 which is far more robust than 4.0, and I
guess also better. Eh.. on the PC I used to use Fasttracker2 but I gave up
the PC scene long, long ago when it stopped imitating the Amiga scene and
started sucking instead. Also I had a few goes at Digibooster Pro, but I
decided not to do multichannel mods because they suck a lot.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Who says I've reached my goal? I don't even have a goal as such, I just
like to produce stuff that I can listen to and maybe play to others, getting
better all the time. If getting better were a goal, then every tune I made
    would've fulfilled that.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Hmm.. no. All that I do has value to me. Even the early stuff which is
objectively really bad music has qualities that I find it hard to reproduce
nowadays. Other musicians sometimes do stuff that I wish I could forget,
    though.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • It's essential. No demo can be good without a harmonic, melodic and
slightly melancholic tune. And the best demos are remembered mostly for
having the best music, such as PMC's Alpha-Omega or Sanity's Arte. The games
I like are usually the games with cool music as well, like Dizzy - Prince of
    the Yolkfolk and such.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Leisure all the way. I'm a leisure person. I still compose for IRIS.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Waste of space mostly. Most scene music today is lacking in every department,
especially the shit you hear in MPEG compos. I have trouble distinguishing one
song from the other. Make head hurt.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • The theme from Alpha Omega is the best one yet. Almost makes me cry every
time I hear it. As for the rest, there are some really excellent ones too,
but I can't be bothered to list them all. Alpha Omega (the tune's called Garbage
Collection, by Peter Salomonsen) stands out as the best though.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Hardly. Maybe when I quit the scene in 50 years but I don't see the need
cause all the people who really appreciate my music still have the hardware
they need in order to listen to it.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Rammstein, Cryhavoc, Mike Oldfield, Jean-Michel Jarre, Stratovarius, some
    others.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • A reason to live.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Very. I'm in IRIS, the oldest remaining group in the Amiga scene. We don't
    just quit!

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Not much. The scene lives, and so does the Amiga, at least until the AmigaOne
finally kills them both. Horrifying prospect. When the Amiga scene dies
completely I'm going all C64 though, cause that seems to be the only future of
    the true scene.
