  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I suppose it was like a microbe. My father was into computers, so I started
arround 1985 with a C64. At a young age the prime interest was games, but
slowly I got into looking further inside the machine (metaphorically and
    literally at some cases).

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Well, as I mentioned before I started with the C64, mostly for games and some
C64 basic.. then I got a portable (God make it) 8086 with an Adlib which I
used to create my first computer generated tunes. I switched later to an
amiga500 and later on a 1200 which I used to create most of the music I've
written up to now using Protracker. It was the late 90's when I switched to
PC and composed the last pieces of tracked music.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Ok, to be precise I also do gfx and code. I got myself more into music mostly
because I was also following a classical music training. I suppose that some
things attract you more.. for no particular reason.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Composer for Adlib, DSS8+ tracker, Protracker, FastTracker 2, Cubase, Cakewalk
    and lately Reason.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • "All for the Rain" is definately the tune that reached both mine and its goal.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Although there are many tunes I've written which I now listen and laugh. But
I wouldn't want to forget any of them as they are indication of my progress..
    heh.. and my history.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • A simple example I suppose would represent my opinion better.. A black screen
between two effects or two scenes in a game is always more enjoyful and
dramatic if there's music to accompany it. Without music it's just like
    watching on a switched-off PC.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I'm composing for leisure purposes as my current employment is in Web design
and development. I sometimes compose tunes for my own pleasure, or to
contribute to a demo.. I also compose with some friends for a progressive
    metal band.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Music is music no matter the format. Tracked music was an evolution and a
challenge to work within certain limits. Sure today's freedom into the
unlimited use of effect makes a weak composition sound better production
wise, but everyone in this scene can recognise a good piece of music when
    he/she hears it.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Everything by Mr.Man and Lizard when they were in Andromeda. Especially
Lizard's tune, they were my inspiration to get into the tracking scene.

Guitar Slinger by Jogeir Liljedahl is one of my all time favourites.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Yeah.. at some time.. I'm not in a hurry since I got a pretty tight schedule
    right now...

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Progressive Metal mostly... Dream Theater, Symphony X, Shadow Gallery etc..

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • I don't think someone can express clearly what the scene gives to him/her..
It's not something precise or vague.. well.. I just can't express anything
else than the fact that it's great.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Not very much.. although I'm trying to organize a demo group here in Greece..
with the exception of some demo-music from here and there..

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Greets fly out to..

dEUS, ASD, Demaniacs, theLab, Dirty Minds, Split Infinity, Alloy.. oh well..
to everyone that has put a small pebble to the scene.
