  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • Interest in technology was always there. Parents bought me a speccy back
    in '83.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Speccy 48k+ - Played games, wrote some basic, frowned alot. Normal spectrum use.
Atari ST - Played games, wrote music in quartet, gawped at demos.
Amiga 500 - Started writing mods, stared disbelievingly at demos, played games.
Amiga 500+ - Got one of these babys with 2Mb Chip Ram.
    Added a populated 20Mb A590 too.
Amiga 1200 - Looked at more demos. Bought an 030 for it. Had this for some years
    until PC's became nicer.
PC - started off with P75, now got a dual P3-800. Geforce is nice.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Well, I tried coding but wasn't really interested and I was even worse at
making gfx. Was into playing instruments from a young age, and had been
waiting for ages to combine my two main interests without the need for
spending on outboard gear. Plus people liked my stuff, so I just carried on
    doing it.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Started off really making tunes with SoundTracker, then moved to ProTracker.
Stuck with that for a few years, then moved to octamed coz of all the extra
channels. Shortly after, I got my first PC and started using FastTracker as
I could use 16-Bit sounds on my awe64. I then moved to Cubase VST and am
    currently using that.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Out of my mods, I'd say that Cheese Hazzard was probably one of my favourites.
But that tune is now 7 years old. :)

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For What reason?

  • Ahh yes. I'd like to be able to forget the music I did for the Amiga version
of the Cliffhanger film. Why? well, listening to it is reason enough, but I
guess it was the rush job, copied from the gameboy music that did it.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • As with music in anything, it provides atmosphere, especially when the music
is matched to things that are going on in the demo/game.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Working on my album due out early 2001. Got some great tunes lined up, all
available for preview on my site. Partly for leisure as I work full time,
but definately for financial reward. :)

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Music formats are progressing nicely and old standards have aged well.
Industry standard formats are going to be around for a while yet.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Too many to list! Basically, any of the dance/rave stuff that came out of
the early-to-mid 90's was awesome. Especially Prodigy, Eat Static, The Orb
etc. Although I've never been able to reproduce stuff that could be
catergorised under any of those, I'd like to think they'd played a big part
    in my musical development.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • I have limited time and am under pressure to finish my album. I'd love to
go back to some of the old stuff and revamp it, but I spend so much less
time on music than I want to I feel that I must keep doing new stuff.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Lots of break/big beat like Hybrid and the likes.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Enhanced appreciation of modern technology.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No. Although I do still hang out with many of the original LSD crew online.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Erm. Buy the album! When it's out of course.
