That old PC - Games, "graphics" Amiga 500 - Games at first, Basic-coding, pixeling, music Amiga 1200 - Amos-coding, graphics and music And of course the usual pile och rarely used junk. I enjoy all three, but probably because that's what I considered myself best at (or least bad). Protracker for all Amiga-mods, some octamed soundstudio for midi-projects and a tiny bit of Carillion for GBC. I'll let you know when i make it. I've made and released some mods which I think is total crap today but that doesn't bother me much, I hardly knew anything about music when I started tracking. Demos are quite pointless without music, and syncing effects to music or vice versa is in my opinion the most exciting and important part in making demos. Routines that would otherwise bore you to death can be real killers when cleverly synced to some fine drums. Still it's all about Protracker. I've made some excursions into making music only using hardware and sequencing with a computer, but it never really turns out the way I want it to. Fine whatever. It's really not the same arena. Trackermusic in my opinion is about limitations and pushing the boundaries of how good 4 channels and 31 samples can sound. I don't like the fact the most parties are giving up on the 4ch compos. Uhhhh.. NES-Music, Jormas and demo-music in general are the greatest sources of inspiration i guess. A couple of högoddsare would be the music from Silicon's intro "Ride", Excellate by Probe and Betrayer's old Metallica-covers. I have, but not so much remastered, more like remade with synths, samplers and other machines. I didn't work at all, it lost all the "tracker-feeling" along the way. I've done some "jamsession-conversions" of mods which turned out quite well though, basically playing the mod live in the tracker and doing some overdubs with synths and playing around something fierce with external effect boxes. Loads.. always have. A lot of contemporary and oldschool electro and other dance music. Everything samplebased within electronica/hiphop goes. Older symphonic and/or psychedelic rock, Pink Floyd, Klaatu, Hawkwind. Others like Killing Joke, Depeche mode and Swans are always favorites. The greatest time of my life. Still does. Yep. My interest in the scene is almost the same as when I discovered it. Not as active though, to much else to do. hej hej ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2006 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
