My interest was and is purely musical. I don't like computers really... An Amiga 500, strictly for music (and some games...) My interest in music existed long before I started using a computer. Mainly Protracker 1.1b, and a bit of Sonic Arranger (?) I don't feel I ever reached my goal(s) using the Amiga. I guess Heaven was an OK tune, though. It reached 2nd place in some music contest. I wouldn't know... When you're at a party somewhere, after two days of heavy computing, you don't feel like looking at thirty-something demos competing anymore. At those moments music determines the winner, I think. When people hear something funny or funky, they get up and vote for it. Games are a whole different story. In games music sets the mood. It emphasises the graphics and animation. Very important, but not as important as the graphics and animation itself. Yeah, quite a lot even. For semi-professional purposes, I'd say. I've released four 12"'s myself and co-worked on another three, as well as on an Amsterdam based band's debut cd. Which is going very well here in Holland. Music is still shit, whether digital or analog. Only very few people dare to take enough risk to keep music really interesting. And unfortunately, they only release on small labels. For Amiga: without a doubt that Phenomena demo tune by Tip & Mantronix. I keep forgetting its name. You know the one I mean, right? No. Currently, as in today? Those would be Neutral Milk Hotel, Zea and Eels. It DID. It gave me a musical upbringing, of which I still profit today. No. The Desire guys and gals. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2001 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
