Vic20 my father sold it probably 2. C128 w/ a 3.5 floppy external disk, my uncle bought it in the US and gave me for christmas, i was my first encounter with the blue hard plastic disks, but at that time i didnt find any place i could buy them, so i only had 2 disks.. 3. A1000 5. A600 , sold a1000 to my cousin to buy a600 coz of wb and kick2.0x 6. a1200, bought in 1992...then sometime around june 1999 lightening struck, had to buy new a1200 I do/used to do all :) I started making small lame drum solos with soundtracker on the a1000....we have i guess some musical genes in our family, my father played in a band, gitar, my sister plays drums/gitar/synth/piano and my brother listens to music..heh So i've made a few modules just for the fun of it, later i started drawing on the a600, deluxe paint and stuff got a modem and called most of the bbs'es in norway at that time....all used a byte ratio....so i guessed i uploaded one or two of my drawings to earn bytes, and a person liked them, i guess....IT/banana design asked me to join, as a graphician, so i did.....they used one fullscreen picture in a short demo, just a picture i had drawn earlyer, coz they needed something fast demo was nearly done i guess.....it was a kinda dark drawing of a werewolf, mouth open and Banana design logo in center of screen....because of that drawing another problem came, music was kinda happy like...heh so brainbug had to make a scary like intro in his module just so the picture would fit in... After that i started really on drawing banana design stuff lotsa logos with a more gentle design, more like yellow blue, pink happy colors....big bold curvy fonts But some of the groups organisers, who joined on later thinked I was using too much time, and that i didnt care for the group, also the fact that i had modem 'arrest' from my father because of a rather large phone bill, i guess they sacked me....i never heard from them again, think the whole group went dead....i saw one demo after that, with another graphician, Optic....and that Shiny old Boots module by BrainBug, still one of my fav modules today. Think group died after that....all my logos and hours of drawing wasted..... After meeting Felix who wanted to start a new group called Massive, i did a few logos and interface for a mag/chart called Messed Up...but that too didnt make it to a complete product... We later start joining up with Maze/Eltech to do a few Digital Chips issues, and again I make a new interface/design and those where on issue 15 or 16 upto 19 i think. I'm really proud of those....digital chips rewls, or simply i just love c64/chip tunes... I remember when first issue of DC came with my gfx, i carried my computer and monitor to the livingroom and connected to my parents tv and stereo, and showed them what we do. They've always asked what i do then sitting with computer i say 'we make demos' and they like 'oh' and dont know what a demo are......Now they knew :) Later over the years, scene seem like stopping....major groups lost members who went to pc's i guess...so i just hang out on irc....in 1995/96 call rates wasnt as bad anymore....got hooked on bbs'ing again, with telnet the wonderful world of bbs'es came usable and affordable again, and even foreign countries was reachable :) I've always loved the feeling and exitement of logging into a bbs and read/check out new msg/files...the design of a bbs is the most important thing to me, if a sysop gives a crap about design, the hole bbs is destroyed....in my eyes...so i wanted to build and maintain my own bbs....in 1996 the bbs was born...Nameless Nameless.....i just could figure out a proper name.. I think end of 96 i just named it Winterland, coz its always cold here when i live, and i was in the END of 96 :) and its been winterland ever since. My coding started with doors for bbs system Daydream. I joined Intellect as a door coder and sysop. It was soo fucking fun, i wish i started trying learing to code years earlyer... Even if the doors where written in arexx, they where pretty usable, i didnt use much of the functions that gave arexx the slow feeling. reading 32byte of a file in asm/arexx is same speed. and most of my doors used simple reading of data files and making charts out of it. I even made a small meny system for a pack disk maintained my Purple Haze, EasyPack think it was.. that was coded in AmigaE... Today, i run my own firm, i make signs and logos you all have seen on company cars and busses. Its very fun, and since I'm the boss...i can sleep as long as i want,....:) sometimes Soundtracker, Noisetracker, protracker....protracker rewls saw digibooster when it came out, but i didnt make any music at that time i think, and i didnt like the look/design of the screen.. There is probably one.....just cant remember name. cant think of anything here Everything, music or soundeffects make the demo alive...I saw Scoopex's Mental Hangover just after demo was released in a computer store.....I was outside and the a500's monitor was facing out of the store.....didnt impress me much, or it did impress me, but the effects and sequences in a demo are much more alive and kicking with sound. When I first saw Desert Dream by Kefrens, and that sawblade went into the screen, i fucking jumped in my seat, mainly because i didnt see it coming, as the music still played in the background....made the effect really surprising :) Yes, today my father have a complete sound studio, we have local groups comming in here for mastering and recording. When i have time (i never have) i usally try doing some instumental themes/tunes with the Korg Trinity.. I dont know...i dont feel as much for the mpeg format as the module format, in the module format you have the notes and sounds in seperate, so its easy to just disable all channels and just play the drums of a module, then jump over to the synth and join in :) i have done/still do that for years. with the module format its easy to change things you feel could have been better, if a composer used crap samples but a great tune, i used to make my own 'remix' with new better samples/sounds im not good remembering titles, but alot of Jogeir liljedahls music is my fav's also some heatbeat tunes. My father really loved chromags and virgill's rock and blues tunes. no way....i wont terrorise people :) Orbital and Orbital alike music my life :) I cant imagine a life without growing up knowing all those people who dedicate hours of their everyday life, making stuff, making entertainment for free for others to enjoy. At work i listens often to classic modules from demos/mags.....mp3/mpeg is good for that kinda use... In my teens, at parties and stuff like that i brougth with me tapes of amigamusic, everyone loved it...but i dont think i could do that today :) .....dont know.....probably not in the scene, but more in the amiga community. I bought a Mediator in January 2001, and wait for some g3/g4 card to arrive :) At work, we have a few machines that are computer driven, CNC router.....and programs for controlling those costs A FUCKING LOT on win9x pc's. So I've made a calculating program in arexx, so all things we make using cnc routers is mainly calculated with arexx from an amiga. So what other firms pay 40-50.000 NOK in software and heavy pc's for running them, i use a 1000 NOK a1200 and OS 3.5 w/ arexx to do nearly the same. So the amiga computer are much used here... I have 2 kids, a boy thats 3 years and a girl thats almost 1 year.....i wait, and wait....i cant wait I wonder what computers they'll have :) Hi mom, felix, frenzey, massive members, intellect members #amigano and every amigan out there.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2001 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
