Address: Germany Phone: -- Date of birth: 9. June 1975 Email: [email protected] Site Address: http://www.psi5.com/~silva/ I think it was around 1990 when I bought my first Computer, an Amiga 500. Its here and still working (got an internal harddrive). My first experiences from then were playing wonderful Amiga Games like Emerald Mine and then learning Amiga Basic to write such games by myself. Later I learned assembler as I tried to hack and rip. My father let me play the first Larry Laffer, Gato, Spacewar and etc on an early IBM pc. Also a friend has had a C64 with very nice Games. In relation to coding I made music very seldom. The reason to make musik was that I wanted to make some Ideas real. The Obarski-Tracker tools. Protracker now. Nothing else. Maybe Fasttracker at PC. Till now I did not reach my goal with this. There are several Mods I made which I count to be my very best. These are a remix of the Theme from Zak McKracken and a mod called 'Out of Range'. I did not release my mods before. Maybe now on my homepage. For our first Megademo someone tried to make a mod what was really nothing more than a messy noise. We did not use that. The music does not need a demo to be perfect, but I liked it to see new effects in the amiga years when all the coders out there tried to do better and better again. We collected everything about them and I coded some rippers, crunchers, decrunchers an converters for strange formats before ProWizard or my new 'Amiga Filterium' (which should be THE ripper ;) existed. Only for leisure very seldom. Maybe I'll participate at a contest next week. I like it to have the non-mod music I like, too as mp3 on a harddrive more than changing CDs all the time I want to listen to them. But I know only one commercial Track that reaches the genre I like most (and that is typical Amiga and C64 sound). That Track is called '14 Zero Zero' by 'Console'. Midi is a good idea but crap I think. It never sounds as it should. I'm sad that Amiga Music is not played in Discos, because it is said that I can dance. Yeah! The first original Karsten Obarski Tracker tunes like 'Sleepwalk', 'Amegas', etc. Then 'mod.dear rob', 'mod.blue stars' and of course many others. Good Idea. My brother has the equipment needed. But I'm not in the form or mood to do. Maybe later... Some bands of the Darkwave Scene and many different Tracks from here and there. Maybe Madonna, Neil Diamond, Bloodhound Gang, etc dont know now... My life? As Amiga was called to be dead I became depressive for years. My Amiga was the only entity that seemed to understand me? My life story till now reads I'm moving from here to there and sometimes branching ... haha ... Yap! I'm back! In these days I release THE ultimate filetype checker and ripper tool called 'Amiga Filterium' (on my homepage). Surely there is much more. I'll greet Zeg and BuZz from Amiga Exotica, Homecat of Black Monks from Comparade Amiga Meetings, Crown from Cryptoburners, Sam (the Unicorn haha), Platon at fs.tum.de, Lighttower (good old friend, I'm very sad that he left us). If Amiga reincarnates, I think I'll join back more officially on everyones desktop whit some fancy utility. ;-D The one big problem I experienced as beeing a computer freak is that much in that f*cking world wasn't interested. I tried to change this but failed. But I really _have_ changed. Uhm, cannot describe... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2001 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
