It was a C64II. I was fascinated in computers. There was so many possibilities to do something with those machines. And since i was born I was a creative mind. So for me computer fascination was unavoidable! :-) Most time with my C64II I spended with gaming, like most of the average teenagers do. But I also did things with integrated Basic and learned to know about Assembler when I earned a Action-Replay-Cartridge. Later on I got my first Amiga. An A500. Like first on the C64 I spended really much time with gaming. The games inspired me to do something on my own, and so.. more or less regular I tried to code something with Amos Basic. In the early 90's one of the most popular basic dialects known on the Amiga! When entering scene in 1994 my most interest was collecting stuff in form of mailswap. Beside that I painted with Dpaint and started to compose Modules with Protracker. I'm not a pure musician you should know! Doing music wasn't just more than a "sideeffect" when I started to hammer the keyboard with notes. On the other side there was times I spended weeks sitting infront of Protracker. But to be honest 4 channel tracker music wasn't ever my real strongpoint. I'm surely better graphician! In the beginning I used some early version of Octamed which I got from some kind of Public-Domain-Disk. Those things are widespread before internet it seems! :-) Later on when getting contact with the scene and other musicians, I changed over to the (for me) more rocking and comfortable Protracker. I couldn't really answer this question, coz I doesn't know if I made music to reach some kind of goal. My most beloved tunes I made around 6-7 years after I started to compose. At those time I felt to reached a level where I could say that I could make good music somehow. Without speaking out a name, surely there's enough tunes I made which sound and arrangement was terrible bad! I think that most musicians have the one or other crap tune in the dark sides of their harddrives. A real good or even genius sound can save a whole demo or intro! A good example I found in "Paul The Kinder Penguin" Intro from the group "Limited Edition". Even I doesn't really thought the effects and gfx was anything special the intro rocks, because the chipsound was so amazing to me! So in my oppinion, sound plays a very important role in most productions. I'm not composing on 4 channel tracker anymore. When I compose i'm using "Buzz" on PC, and it's more the leisure way i'm going. I competed on several internet music-platforms and still being member of the musicgroup "Liquid Skies Recordz", where i'm responsible for both cover and sound. I love the mpeg-format in all his forms! Seemingly I was one of the few Amiga Sceners who bought a special decoder card for his Amiga! When releasing music I prefer the mp3 format, coz it's the most widespread and supported format for the biggest possible audience. I prefer to have an audience hearing my music. Think most artists are feeling the same. I like nearly all the tunes made by MortimerT, Substance and some other electro musicians. There's also a place in my heart for the oldschool musicians like Jester, Heatbeat and all the others. I doesn't have those plans at the moment. But at least most of my latest mp3 tunes are released on "Liquid Skies Recordz" and available on cd. At least if the 2nd edition from the Lqs-Collection is out. There's no special favourite band. I really like most british and swedish bands like "Manic Street Preachers", "Cardigans" and many others. Beside band music my most favourite interest is electronic music in form of (goa)trance, ambient and progressive. A common spirit! A well known name for many others. A lot of surprise and fun on meetings and swapping. A way to expose my creative sides to the outside world. Scene is still in my heart, coz it contains almost any ideals i'm likely to! Not that active like 2-3 years ago but still a little bit! As explained above I'm doing covers for "Liquid Skies Recordz" and if time allows I release the one or other mp3 from time to time. I also try to build up a homepage for the group "Apathy" in the meanwhile, but it's not an easy way to going somehow. I'm greeting all those people who know me and like me somehow! :-) Thank you for this interview! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2005 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
