We were playing cool games on the C64 all day. The buildt-in basic was were exiting. I remember we wrote small programs from small pieces of code in computer magasines. I never had a C64 myself, my first computer was an Amiga 500 i got in 1989. Amiga 500 - Tracking, gaming and watching demos:) Amiga 1200 - Still tracking, still watching demos and a little MC68k coding. Intel PC - Fasttracker, later on AcidPro and a little Reason. Different Unix/Linux workstation - Daily use. I'm not making music anymore. Me and my cousin Pinocchio started tracking. It was lots of fun. After a while I got quite a collection of sample disks. I remember getting Protracker, what a great program. I started a little coding on the side, but making music was most fun, In the early 90's i joined contraz as a musician. The first program i used was Startracker, then Protracker. I Also used Octamed for midi and AHX for that groovy chip-sound. Later on i got a PC and started with Fastracker and high-quality music with AcidPro and Reason. I mostly used Protracker. Hah! I think all my music sucks! I have never been satisfacted with any of my music. But my friend said it sounded cool, "I have to use this for my demo!" :) Having my music released at Miasmah is cool. The tune i made with Skjeggspir on the Gathering'95 for his 64k intro. It just sounded terrible! And it had to be finished before the deadline, so i couldn't sleep and I ended up feeling like shit. Its fun to be a part of a team making a demo. Expecially if its finished before the deadline and shown on the bigscreen :) No, I'm not composing anymore. Mostly it sucks.. I love that crispy groovy C64-sound! If i listen to music from the scene, its sid. Old Dizzy modules. I love most of them.. still got the dizzy-dir. No! Everything from Techhouse to rock to psychedelic. Like pascal feos, placebo, idjut boys, shpongle, old mixes of cassius and grandmaster flash. Lots of fun. Lack of sleep. Cool parties. To much to drink. Well, I go to parties and stay in touch with people. But theres long time since I have been involved in a production. Greetings to Psalt, roomeo, niggerjack and the rest of DNF. Ofcourse everyone in Contraz and Phrenetics. Baffle, Arcane, Xhale and the rest of the gang. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2002 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
