`n. .rP' `qb ,dP' TLb. ,dMP' all rite, now you get the chance to read TML.dMMP some facts about some of the major amiga ,nmm`XXMPX musicians. read about their history in ,#MP'~~XNXYNXTb. the scene and their plans in future.yes, ,d~' dNNP `YNTb. that's meant to be read while listening to ,~ ,NN' `YNb their modules. read 'em over and over and over.. dNP `Yb. ,NN' `b. · i n t e r v i e w · ___________ ______dP _____________ \ / \ ,N'\____ _____________. _____ \ \_____. ____\ / \___P___/ .\--\__ __/__ |--\____)---\ _____/__ |--\_ \ _/ | | | \ | | \__| | _ \ / | \__| | /\ | | _| | | _l_ | | \ / _l_ | ___| l___/=l___|====l____/===\______|==l______|\ /l___/===\______l____/ \/ Handle: Anthony Group: Anathema, Obscure Date of birth: 29/07/75 probably in the early 80`s when one of my older brothers purchased a spectrum which horace goes skiing!!!! and later match day. my mother would laugh her head off at the site of the players walking out of the tunnel! My 1st machine was a C64 and went on to the Amiga 500,1200, and then the PC Well i used to be a very good artist with a pencil but once a mouse was put into my hand i couldnt draw jack s**t! s**t? yes, jack s**t? no! As the music goes i was given soundtracker when i first got my Amiga in 1989 i think with the great st-01 and 02 disks! man they were bad!!! and just p****d about and eventually stuck with it and thank god i did. Protracker on the amiga but a whole host of programs on the pc including Cakewalk, Acid, Soundforge, Cubase to name a few. Cakewalk gets the most hammering! very easy to use which is why i prefer it to Cubase, and Sound Forge gets a fair battering when im experimenting with samples. Dont think i reached my goal with any module! but the one i was most happy with was one i did for a demo called Channel Four by Anathema. It was actually a mix of the title track i did for Pinball Dreams 2 on the pc, i dont think it got repetitive, it wasnt overly long, it used great sounds ( not ripped, did em myself!lol ), and had a general theme running throughout. later mods i did tended to be fairly short in comparison. When i took stock of my Kurzweil K2000S, i dont think anyone could have had better quality samples! very very clear with perfect non clipping loops ( no amiga sampler involved )later modules were maybe technically better with higher quality sounds but on a whole, non had what Pinball Dreams 2 had. any Fifa Soccer, Primal Rage or Mortal Kombat 2 mods on the Amiga! horrible 2 channel music for the most part but happy in the knowledge that it wasnt actually my music! coversion work thankfully!! please download from my website...i dare you! Well try playing ..say...Silent Hill 2 on the Playstation 2 with the sound muted! Yes im still kicking about! semi-pro i think. My last game work was for Demolition Racer on the Dreamcast. But more for leisure nowadays. But if people wanna hire me?????? There will always be the need for midi music and they always will be, But the biggest thing for me over the past few years is MP3. -- There are only a few mods that would make good translations to midi but i will probably release a cd with my original midi comositions at some point. Ill listen to most things but my main source of entertainment is score music and in particular Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner. good times with great people!!!!! afraid not! 5 or 6 years ago my bags were packed Hello to all music listeners, where ever you are. Be happy whatever your situation, there are people far worse off than yourself. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2001 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
