  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • Somewhere in -85. It was all about the game "millie bug" on C-64...
And of course I was writing basic programs from magazines. In eighties
things were different. One was still supposed to learn to use the
    computer in terms of programming.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • C-64, Amiga, PC
I did nearly all what you can imagine excluding things
which weren't possible without special equipment.
Programming is the best way to deal with computers no matter
do you compose music or render things out...

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Well... I've been musician for a clear reason. I play guitar and keys
in "real life". I can't separate what is the most important issue.
Music is music. It's way different than graphics which I tend to do
    as well.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Well... I'm still a genuine amigist. ANd on amiga there can be
only one music composing tool ... ;) But besides amiga trackers
    I found Skaletracker really convicient.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I'm afraid you haven't heard 'em. But for experimental stuff
one could try one limbo production "fantastic four goes shopping"
executable is downloadable from LIMBO-WEB under the website
    http://www.virtual-artist.com

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • I've forgotten 'em all. Lots of "crap" in digital music, but
it's obvious. So many people are curious to try out how things sound like.
That is necessary part in evolving.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • That it fits.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • A graduated professional in media-arts. It makes sense after all these years.
I do digital videos as well. And the music enjoys an extremely great importance.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • All formats are good and they're able to develop. I guess more important
matter is the piracy of music, which has one great side-effect. A live show
beats any recorded piece. This means that the value of live performance will
be understood again. I think all music should be downloaded for free.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Some rock is pretty ok (Led Zeppelin). Occasionally Jazz is damn good (Miles Davis).
80's electro has some pearls included. Can't name the songs. Too many songs.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Of course.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Currently? King Crimson. Kraftwerk.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • A lot. Sense of digital art.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Scene... Well... I've noticed there's several scenes.
(for example the short film scene). Computer demoscene
is just a piece of art-scene, which includes the big picture
of human being (If I get a bit of philosophical). This all goes
down to the fact that all art reflects it's time.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Greetings to old mates and all those who know Limbo,
the phenomenon of finnish Amiga demoscene around -94, -97 & -99.
All our stuff runs on 1Mb Amiga 500 ... THat tells a lot about
    the attitude!
