I used to play c64 with my friends in the late 80s. Later on, things moved on to pc. I didn't get my own computer untill 95 though. My first machine was an old 486 dx2 66mhz. First couple of years I was pretty much just playing games. Later on, in 97 I got ft2 from a classmate, and after that I was hooked :) I'm not really sure. I didn't really know anyone who did anything but play games with their computers. As I said, I saw ft2 at a classmates place, and I was amazed. I loved the idea of making music. I also used to buy the old sceneish magazine tekno, where I got my first mods from. Dr Awesome even wrote a "tracking-manual" in the magazine. Last 5 years I've been sticking to good old ft2. Last year I've been playing around remastering my songs in cooledit aswell. And lately I've started to learn fruityloops. Hehe. Though question. I don't think I've ever had any goal. Or I suppose, in the start, I wished my music someday, would be respected. I don't really care if I've achieved that "goal" anymore. I'd rather be a respected as a person anyway :) Ahahah. my first onehour-compo song probably. I hadn't been tracking for a long time at that time. And I sertainly couldn't track fast. I ended up with this really lousy song, which was totally screwed up. And then later on when people were voting, ofcourse they had to make fun of it :) Hmm. value, as in how important it is? I think it's very important. not only in demos or games, but in anything, or anywhere. music creates atmosphere and emotions. I might be brainwashed by my years of composing, but, music is life, and life wouldn't be anything without it. I'm still composing. not as much as I used to though. nothing professional though. it's still just for the fun of it :) The formats? i'm not sure what there are to think of them? :D they're quite useful yes? heh My all time favourites. hmm. that's a hard question. I like ALOT of music. and usually, if I really like a song, i'll listen to it on repeat for hours, untill i'm all sick of it :) Heh. Doubt it Gah. another hard question :) as I said, I like alot of stuff. my favourite bands right now though, would be queens of the stone age, nirvana and beatles. Allthough, what I listen to, changes all back and forth. Inspiration I suppose. I still love the sound of the songs from the old games I used to play as a kid. Not as active as I would like to be. but I guess i'm still active yes. Uhm. my friends and everyone I've been doing music with over the years. They hopefully know who they are :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2003 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
