  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • It was in 1986 when I got a C64. My music interest didn't start until we upgraded
to an Atari and we got a program called Noise Tracker which I started to play
    with.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • C64, C128, Atari, Amiga, PC486, P200, PII300, AMD1000.

First I played games on them, but then when I got the Amiga I started to explore
ProTracker more. When I bought my first PC and used Fast Tracker II I rapidly
improved and started releasing modules on local BBS:es here in Stockholm.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I've always loved music in most shapes. I like graphics as well, but I'm not
skilled enough to make anything serious. I use my small graphic knowledge in
my web works. The coding part have never interested me, and I don't have the
    skills required for that.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Noise Tracker, Pro Tracker and Fast Tracker 2. FT2 has always been my favourite
and it feels like I know that program like the back of my hand.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I don't think I've reached my goal with my music yet. I still have a lot to
learn and to explore, even though I'm progressing very slowly nowadays. One
milestone in my tracking history was with the song "Sirene Song" though in
which I started to use volume dynamics to a larger extent and thus improving
the tunes very much. After that tune I improved even further with "The Grey
Havens: Talindra's Journey". After that tune I haven't released any stand-alone
    module, only demo music.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Hmm... There are some tunes I look back at today and wonder how I could come up
with that idea, but I don't regret creating any module. They all have something
special worth listening to. Of course my first tunes aren't much to remember,
but they all have a meaning.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Oh, that's a lot! I've met people saying "Wow, the music really lifted the whole
demo" and "Imagine this demo _with_ music".

I don't believe something is more important than the other though. In a demo I
think 1/3 is code, 1/3 is gfx and 1/3 is music.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • More or less... Nowadays I'm working full time and don't really take the time
to sit down and track. I had more enthusiasm and inspiration earlier. I will
    never stop tracking music though.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Take MP3: I think it is good to have a common format which everybody can play
and it would practically sound the same everywhere. This makes it easier to
market tracker music as a respectable form of music. I also think it is good
that people take tracking more seriously now and focus more on high quality
sound. I would like composers to share their source more and let us learn from
eachother, rather than hiding it from eachother and not letting fellow trackers
    use samples and such.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Made of other trackers I must say the old tunes from early 90's are my favourites.
They are all very melodius and creative. I also love chip tunes. I still admire
those musicians the most! Creating music of basically nothing... Examples of my
favourites are: Satellite One (PM), Space Debris (Captain), Deadlock (Elwood),
Chiptjat (Radix), Fruktfatspop (Martyn), Adrift (Benedict Loh), Underwater
    Voyage part 1,2 (Darkhalo)

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • I've always wanted to do that. Sometime... sometime...

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • A lot :) U2, Live, Depeche, Enigma, Air, Vangelis, Tiesto, Oakenfold, Sublime...

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Nostalgy, smiles, creativeness, impressed by their skills.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Not much. Occasionally I visit some mod pages and listen to Nectarine mod radio.
    Not releasing anything.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Don't ever forget the mod scene and never stop tracking if you once did it.
Music will live forever and the scene will never die. Greets to my friends in
    Phobia and Scarab Corpse.
