I just liked playing games on it. We had a 386 25 mhz machine, and then a Pentium 120. I currently have an AMD Athlon 1.2 ghz machine, which suits my needs quite nicely. Actually, I do coding because I am a computer science major. I like writing music because it's a fun hobby for me - I've always enjoyed listening to music, and I've always wanted to write my own music as far as I can remember. I started with Scream Tracker, and then graduated to Impulse Tracker. IT doesn't work too well with my current computer, so I now use Modplug Tracker. That's hard to say. I've found I'm never quite able to fully put what I have playing in my head into digital form. I'm tempted to say my song "Pray for Rain" has had the best results, though - and it's certainly one of my most original songs as well. Yes, all of my early tunes! Seriously, though, I've written a lot of songs where I tried too hard to emulate the styles of other trackers (such as Purple Motion, Necros, and so on), and as such I'm not too quick to share them with others. However, I've never willingly deleted a song of mine - I keep them all for posterity. For demos, music is extremely vital. It's almost impossible to set a mood without music. In the case of games, it depends - there are some games I like to play without music on occasion, and other times I like to put in my own playlist instead of the game's music. Music has been a very important part of some of my favorite games, too (such as the Zelda games, Warcraft 2, and Final Fantasy 6). Yes, but not at the rate I'm used to. I'm going to attempt to write a few songs this summer. Hopefully they'll turn out well. MP3 is a beautiful format - it gives you optimal sound for a good file size. I like mod music a lot (obviously) but I've never cared much for midi. The first tunes I heard that I really loved were Astraying Voyages by Purple Motion, Jupiter by Tr/\sh, and Infinity by Khyron and Necros. I like most songs by PM, Necros and Siren. Probably not. Music's just a hobby of mine, I have no current plans to make money for writing music. None in particular. I mostly listen to classical music (which isn't to say that's the only style of music I listen to, of course). Nothing, I wasn't around in those days. Not really. I'm surprised people know who I am, to tell the truth. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2003 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
