Straight after that I jumped to PC. Like I said, I played with Commodore before having a PC, but fortunately that C128D still exists and later I have learned how to create music with that. I don't know if there's any reason why I ended up with making music, but I think both of my big brothers had something to do with it. The eldest one (Antti a.k.a Flex / Contex) had made music with C64 a couple of years ago, and he naturally started making music with trackers when he found out that there's an opportunity to do that. Also the elder one (Janne a.k.a Jangler) started making music with trackers when it was possible, so I guess it was time to me to start doing music. I learned how to use trackers with FastTracker 1. When FT2 was released I changed to it, and I have been using it since that. All of my released modules are made with FT2. Nowadays I use Jeskola Buzz. I think the one which reached what I was driving back was the one of my latest modules called "Lumi". I tried to get some feel of the winter when the snow flakes are slowly landing on the ground, and I think I succeeded very well in that. No, there's no such module. I didn't even ever manage to use a wrong chord or wrong note in my songs, unlike several persons I know =). Demo is nothing without music, neither is game. Even though there would be much more work in coding the demo, the music's role in it is 50/50. When it comes to games, the music's role depends on what kind of game we're talking about. Nowadays I'm composing music just for fun. Good. From all mods, I would say that I liked a lot of Prototype's "D-Minor" which was made to Assembly '96 and if I remember right, it was third in the multichannel competition. From my mods, the favourite is absolutely "Lumi". And when it comes to "real" music, I won't say anything because the best tunes vary all the time. I've made one, but just with putting some compressor etc. on the wave-file. It might be a good idea to recreate mods with real equipment. There's no such band I could say I listen to, because there are so many artists who make good songs sometimes and sometimes not. I just pick good songs and the name of the artist is irrelevant. Some fame, and a starting-point which says not to touch to 3d-killing- games =). Not much, just visiting some parties if there's an opportunity to, and maybe participating in competitions. greetings to these fellas: jangler, flex, matti t, jucdor, sape, frodo, dawnstar, ko, x-man, duet, m.o, zage, leach, sojagga, trigger, timmy b, tk, ascide5, shadow, late, antti m, mikko k, berry, alexei, jm, slicer, olli s, mike, juho s, sampo t, antti e, tuomas o, j9, spoiler, coolwave, freezer, tiia l, hanna k, heli q, theresa c, sandy y, emmi n, hanna-l h, rtp, humppamachines, coil, vista. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2001 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
