Personally I wanted C64, but practical as my father was - He choosed Spectrum cause the basic was far more better than Commodore's. I still own the ZX Spectrum, but haven't powered it on for a long time Back in 80's computing for me was just playing games and a little basic programming. Early 90's my interest in computers grow a lot when I bought a 386 clone. Started programming, making music and rendering images. Spectrum didn't offer much music, but some of my friends had C64 and I really enjoyed game music and even more of the loading musics. ZX Spectrum - Playing Spectravideo 728 - Playing PC 386 - Playing, Imaging, Music and communication ...Just newer and faster PC's after that. My brother bought amiga, c64 etc and maybe I can count those machines also as mine ;) I still do the all of these. Today I work as software designer and with my spare time trying to make some music and gfx. Not so much as back in 90's. Playing music is the one of those I love most. Fast Tracker 2 Skale Tracker Hard to say. Mostly I newer finished anything. But if I had to name on it would be Krapula (Iloinen krapula-aamu -> Happy hangover morning). Name says when I did it and got it finished at the same morning. I think not. Great music can save a lot. Even a crappy demo or intro is good if the music is great. Music builds the atmosphere of the demo - best demos are those I think which have music and graphics joint together. In the games music is not that important. For example Spectrum games had lame beeping music or no music but were still kicking. Trying... trying... leisure. It doesn't depend of the media format of the music. With new programs and eqipment users can create more profession sounding music and there are less limitations. I really like my younger brother Pekka s tunes a lot (Ptk79/ptk/phekkis/pekkana/pekemp). He is still active in making music using Amiga! It's been a long time since I really listened mods so I can't remember more than artists: Here are some I really liked 4Mat Phekkis Purple Motion Awesome SID tunes! Hubbard, Galway, Fred Gray, Huelsbeck, Ouwehand, Whittaker ...sorry that I can't recall any song names. Nope. CMX, Daft Punk, Franz Ferdinand, Incubus, Janes Addiction, Kuha, Maj Karma, Muse, Rollins Band, Sara, System of a Down, Tool, Von Hertzen Brothers Experience. Following passively what happens. Terve kaikille! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2007 by crown of cryptoburners |
