ModEdit 1.0, ScreamTracker 3, Fasttracker 2.0. the imago orpheus was the tool of my choice. big thanks to lutz roeder, who has invested years to create such a powerful tool. using the emu6000 chip of the soundblaster awe32 card, it enabled you to use resonant filters, reverb and chorus. from 1994 on this was the main tool i used to create computer music. modules like 'the blue valley' or 'astaris' still move me emotionally when i hear them. no. it's the first thing people understand without being involved or technically educated. yes, i do improvised synth music with friends. i think i will always remain a non-professional dilettant who just wants to create music. creating music is getting easier and cheaper every year. thats good. touching people emotionally with music is still very difficult. i like limited technology because it reduces 'how' questions and creates room for "what" questions and thus, drives the evolution of content rather than machinery. rob hubbard - crazy comets, monty on the run jochen hippel - lethal excess music chris huelsbeck - turrican 2 music, z-out music karsten obarski - sacrophaser, amegas purple motion - mental surgery music, unreal 1 music, ssi intro skaven - assembly 92 invitation music i already did this. write me to get one. brian eno, tetsu inoue, testrauschen. a past. no. older generations always lamented "you only sit in front of your computers and waste your time." i think not a single second was wasted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2003 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
