  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • Wow, that is way back !!! I've been interested in computers for a long time now,
and i don't really recall when it all started. It was around 1987/88, i think.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Oh what machines did i own ?? Ok, it started with an old ALICE (the red bugger),
then we switched to the C64 with some friends of mine. At the same time, i also
owned an AMSTRAD CPC 464 : these 2 computers hav made my days what they are now,
i think !! Especially, the CRACKTROS i saw on them. That was my first contact
with the 'scene'. But as many 'youngsters', i was only interested by games,
back then. And then came, the GREAT and WONDERFUL AMIGA !!!!

Damn, this 'GODSENT' machine is the greatest of all. I was still in 'gaming',
when a good friend put this disk in my computer: the NorthStar Megademo.
Bang ! No more games, only scene interest ... that's how it started !

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • The reason is that i can't draw any single pixel, and i don't know how to code
a single byte !!! (well that was true at that time, but have changed a bit
    now ...) :)

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • The first was SOUNDTRACKER. Ah, those ST-xx disks ! Amazing what you can do
with only four channels !!! Then i switched to PROTRACKER, which was a great
improvement ! I never tried another soft, as PROTRACKER had all i wanted !!

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Well, you can never reach your goal, all the more is you're an 'artist'. Each
piece you make is a snapshot of a moment, a feeling, an idea. You can say
you've done fairly good, sometimes, but the goal is always elsewhere:
    otherwise, you stop creating !

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Well, one i definately like to forget is a tune i made for 'The Party xx'
(as you see, i'm really bad with dates !). This tune was horrible, i still
can't understand how i done it, and why ! Surely, a mistake ...

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Well, turn on your TV-set, turn the volume down, and there you have: nothing!
A flow of images, with not much inetrest indeed. More than music, i'll SOUND.
SOUND is an important part in our everyday lives, as is it in every kind of
artistic matters. In a demo, it is even more important, as it gives the PACE,
the FEELING, the TOUCH ! And in game, my god, even little background musics
are important. These gets you in the flow of sense, leads you to react and
behave. SOUND is IMPORTANT. SOUND is VITAL.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Well, yes. I'm still composing, though i had a big break with music, some years
ago. But now i'm back in the 'business' and it's a real pleasure. I'm writing
lyrics (prof.) and i just re-started composing some MODS and MP3's (either
    prof. or leisure).

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Ok listing time:

wave: the 'core' of nowadays music. Important, but not good the media diffusion.

midi: was good at the beginning (the VERY beginning, i mean). But really
    superseded.

.xm, .it, ...: the 'always around' format ! 'true' scene-musicians begun with
that, and they'll stick with it !

mp3: i can't count how many times i read "mp3's are bad, not for the scene ...".
Well, to these hardcore-sceners, i say: I LOVE MP3 !! Use and Abuse it !

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Well, i can't really remember the music's name, but the author, for sure.
First, MOBY and all his work in the DREAMDEALERS team: this guy was AMAZING !
He was a former drummer, and you could feel it in his tunes. Then was BRUNO,
and his always innovative musics. Also, NUKE and 4-MAT (Seeing is Believing,
my dream !). There was CHRYLIAN/Proton Ltd (less known, but Oh so talented ..),
and DIZZY (this guy is a Genius). Every music made by any of these is a wonder
    (to me at least !)

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • No, this really isn't worth it. There are some musics that i'd like to
re-arrange completely of course, and give them a new 'breath', but not enough
to make a cd out of it.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Well, mainly some Funk/Jazz bands (SINCLAIR, FUNKY UNIT, BRAND NEW HEAVIES,
and some other oldies). I also Movie Titles ( eg.music from John WILLIAMS or
Danny ELFMAN). A bit of RNB/GROOVE style, and some D'n'B/HOUSE music. Kind of
    eclectic.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • The C64 was good, but as i stated earlier, the AMIGA scene was my first 'love'.
I've started there, i've learned there. AMIGA times were Hell of Time. That
scene was so active, and that's why i'm still around. I'm still experiencing
this feeling in nowadays PC-Scene, and that is thanks to that past experience.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Well, i've done some little things, helping some friends. But now, i'm starting all
over, trying to as active as i can.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Well, some big-ups to SLY/Rvl, Kënet, IZM_SOLAAR/RaZoR1911. And respect to all
    sceners for being sceners !
