Although it was mainly his business machine he did have a few games. As primitive as they were they still peeked my interest and from there I became infatuated with all thing computer. My memory is a little fuzzy on the exact year, but I believe this happened circa '85. Atari 400 = played games Atari 2400 = played games Vectrex = played games Amiga = played games and MODs i386DX2/33 = played games and started to make MODs i486DX2/66 = played games and continued making MODs Pentium 90 = played games and continued making MODs PII 300 = played games and continued making MODs PIII 800 = play games and make MODs and ACID tracks (current system) The demos of the early 90s simply blew me away. Unfortunately I didn't have the knowledge needed to do any ASM programming. I try VGA and ANSI graphic work but it never peek my interest. I did however try ASCII graphic and for a time found it very enjoyable. I and a few others even helped define the new school ASCII art moment. New school meant ASCII art wouldn't be confined to just the mono color and basic characters but could explain to include any non-ANSI block characters AND full color. It's one of my major contributions to the "scene". And the one that I'm best known for. Mainly the two I use currently are Impulse Tracker and Sound Foundry's ACID. I don't know which. They all are part of a core progression to better myself. With each new track I try to get myself that much closer. My first entitled "Plane X". It's just BAD. Nuff said. Enormous. Like the relation to movies; music can enhance and augment areas of a game. A game devoid of any music is a game devoid of character, depth and enjoyment. Yes. I am still composing. Mainly for leisure/hobby. Though I have had some professional offerings, I always tend to turn them away because composing music professional is always a pain in the ass. I think they are fine for what they do. But I long for the days when I could download one my favorite tracker's songs and be able to check out how he put the track together on a note/volume/sample/effect basis. There's too many to list. And I don't have to time to investigate which one. Yes. As a matter of fact my first audio CD album Transitions is remastered and ready for Cd production. The ONLY major thing preventing me from making it a reality is two tracks are using unlicensed samples. I'm not sure how to proceed. I composed these two track a long time ago when I didn't know about the words "copyright infridgements". Currently I listen too Thievery Corp, Creed, Dust Brothers, Everything but the Girl, BT, Crystal Method, Radiohead and LTJ bokem. I'm really enjoying the music from the Blade movie. No, not the "official" soundtrack. I mean the music from the movie itself. I really dig New Order's Confusion track. That song just kicks ass. nothing. barely. I still visit IRC channels every now and then. It's amazing when a couple people I've never meant recognises me. :) Lots of people to greet. Basically all of the folks from scene.org #trax, efnet #trax, trackers from the early and mid 90s, everyone in ACID and pHluid. AND all other tracking groups... sup all!? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2002 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
