We had a c64 (don't remember the exact model) with my brother, used mostly for playing games. Later on we got an Amiga 500, and at that time besides playing games, i was old enough to learn to use Protracker. As PC's evolved, we got a Pentium 166MHz, which was used for playing games and learning to make music with fasttracker, and later on with Cakewalk and MIDI equipment . It was the next logical step as I started playing drums at a young age, and also self-taught guitar and bass guitar. I never even thought of gfx or coding since music was my strength. Protracker at the very beginning, after that Fasttracker for several years before moving on to Cakewalk. After that i've used Sonar, but adapted to Cubase later on (which i currently use). A tough question, since as a creative person you're never fully satisfied with your work, and you always feel you could have done better in many ways. That's one of the aspects that I think drives any artist or musician on, the desire to evolve and learn more and more thus becoming more accurate in expressing the inner self. Anyway, I remember being proud when completing 'Fata Morgana', which got released on Milk (if I remember correctly, for it's a long long time ago). Well some of the early tunes are quite horrible. Only reason to listen to them is to get a nostalgic laugh. Great value. Any game or demo that has proper music set to the mood of the visuals, is a lot more thorough experience. It's a 1+1=3 when the sound and picture are in unison. Professional AND leisure. I have released a couple of 12" house EP:s in the UK, and some remixes as well. I make music under the name 'Scape'. The latest EP was titled "Scape feat. D'empress - Be My Friend", and had Seamus Haji as a remixer, Diane Charlemagne (d'empress) as the vocalist, and the vocal written by Ultra Nate! The EP was released 12/2003 on Soul Love. Other than that, I make deeper housy stuff. I'm not sure if i get the point you're after? Anyway i think mpeg-3 is a useful format to the upcoming artist, as a media for publishing music on the net. mhmm.. here's some that I can think of right now. Jazzanova - takes you back (unexpected dub) (actually the whole 'In Between' -album is fuckin' brilliant), Jamiroquai - virtual insanity, Phoenix - If I ever feel better, Daft punk - around the world, Ray Barretto - pastime paradise (a crazy latin cover of the Stevie Wonder orig.), Air - Run, Daft punk - digital love, Röyksopp - Eple, Bobby Womack - across the 110th street. There's a lot more but these are the ones i never get out of my head. Probably not as my tracks were not too popular back in the day. Jazzanova, Phoenix, Mars Volta, Muse, Air, Erykah Badu, Liekki, and a lot more. Not too much, I was so young in those days and i really got into the scene on the PC-era. Anyway i love watching the amiga / c64 -demos nowadays.
